I hope people managed to get out over the weekend and see the aurora borealis or northern lights. I was lucky enough to be in the middle of rural Carlow with just a yard light. Always wanted to see this phenomenon happening, so feel privileged to witness it and get some photos. #northernlights

Did you know that grounding technology can help you connect with the Earth's natural frequency of 7.83 Hertz? By going barefoot in the grass, you can experience the benefits of feeling more connected and centered. Take a moment to step outside and connect with the Earth today! 🌿 #Grounding#NatureConnection#EarthsFrequency
On Earth Day, this article serves as a powerful metaphor for our relationship with the natural world, emphasizing the need to shift from trying to "save" the planet to reconnecting with it. Today is an opportunity to reflect on our own interactions with the environment and consider how we can guide our choices and actions towards a more harmonious coexistence with nature.

The impact of bleaching events should be assessed with consideration of the natural recovery capability of coral reefs and the rapid speed at which these ecosystems change.
Images of recent bleaching on the reef crests around Jiigurru, Lizard Island have been causing shock and dismay, but did you know that the same reefs were even more heavily impacted in 2016 yet made a very fast recovery. Check the footage in our video here to see just how drastic these changes have been.
The Great Barrier Reef has evolved over millions of years with a regular regime of disturbance by cyclones, floods, bleaching and Crown of Thorns Seastar outbreaks, and it has a natural recovery capability. As climate change increases the frequency of severe bleaching events, the question we should be asking is not so much about how much coral cover we have, but whether the natural recovery capability of the reef is being compromised?
Measuring bleaching impacts and recovery capability requires regular reef surveys to monitor reef condition through time. Thankfully, geotagging camera systems, both in underwater cameras and in aerial drones, are making the collection of this data faster and more accurate than ever before. In this video, we show just how powerful these techniques can be.
We also have good scientific information on the things we can do to enhance natural recovery capability in the reef ecosystem at the large spatial scales that really matter. More marine protected areas, better water quality, and Crown of Thorns Seastar control are all things that we can do quite quickly in the next decade to boost the natural resilience of the Great Barrier Reef and give it the best chance possible to deal with a warming ocean and more frequent bleaching stress events.
Action on reducing greenhouse gas emissions is also necessary, but regardless of how quickly we get emissions down, we still have decades and decades of warming to come, so we need to be taking practical steps right now to help our reefs.

If you read one story about Earth Day and its importance, read this one; and if you like it, please share it with non-sustainability professionals. A touching and clear-eyed view that it's not about saving the Planet, it's about saving the diverse biosphere...

Urgent action is needed to reduce the impact of underwater radiated noise (#URN) resulting from ship propulsion, resistance, and onboard machinery, especially in highly sensitive waterways that are rich in vital marine life.
Sound is everything to orcas, a social species that communicates vocally, and navigates and hunts using echolocation. Just imagine trying to have a quiet conversation with your partner, while listening to trance music at 120 db.
“[Shipping noise] obliterates everything else” ... The chugging ships 'completely masked all the communication that was going on (between the orcas). And you can hear, on the #hydrophone, the whales straining to communicate – shouting above the noise.'”
We need to better monitor #URN and rapidly implement solutions to reduce the impact of URN from vessels.

This episode is dealing with the concept of underwater cities, that are the possibilities of positive and negative impacts, along with its advantages and disadvantages in a longer run. So, you can dive into this world through the link given in description and bio.
Today marks a special day in the calendar - World Whale Shark Day, a global reminder of the majestic marine life that graces our oceans. Beyond their awe-inspiring beauty, these gentle giants underscore the delicate balance of our ecosystems. Yet, as we celebrate their existence, we must also recognize the urgent need for collective action to preserve our underwater world.
The health of our oceans directly impacts life on land, including ours. Our planet's fragile ecosystem relies on the harmony between land and sea. It's a stark reality that if we don't step up to protect and restore our environment, the day might come when endangered marine creatures are only visible through the glass walls of aquariums.
At WISETECH, our commitment to environmental sustainability is unwavering. We're not just a mobile flood light expert in terms of illumination; we're advocates of responsible manufacturing vendor. Our portable flood lights exemplify this ethos. Every product we craft is rooted in eco-consciousness, utilizing premium, sustainable materials that minimize our carbon footprint.
This World Whale Shark Day serves as a timely reminder that the actions we take today shape the world we'll leave for generations to come. Let's unite our efforts, both big and small, to ensure that the beauty of the oceans isn't confined to glass tanks.
