Which countries are best at teaching children critical thinking? http://on.ft.com/1jz05Xt There are high salaries on offer for people able to organise the world's messy information. But are schools preparing children well enough for this?

Great article. Santanu, you made a great point and this is a good reminder that some old-school approaches in parenting and teaching are no longer the path to go.

All children are creative. Parents and Teachers need to remove boundaries to thinking as they grow. Let their minds remain free. What also matters is exposure. Either one creates different artificial challenges, or expose children to real life challenges and let them figure out how to deal with them. Allow them to make mistakes, rather than 'telling' them how to avoid mistakes.

i'd agree with Obama's view that creativity is on the basis of knowledge.

Critical thinking doesn’t equal being good at problem-solving... but we can see here that there’s a trend that cannot be disregarded.

Another limitation of the study is that they connect the education with the critical way of thinking. http://www.technologyreview.com/view/429206/emtech-preview-another-way-to-think-about-learning/ On this study we can see Ethiopian kids without education to make use of tablets for first time without instructions. The kids not only became quickly familiar with the tablets, moreover they hacked the software. Hence, how can you evaluate the critical thinking of kids without proper educational background ?
