How can California teachers acquire great curriculum for their students? Every year, Prop 28 money is given to schools to provide additional funding for art education. Did you know that Prop 28 money can be used to pay for the Kincade Productions online Production Assistant course? Teachers, this is a great opportunity to give your students film experience from industry professionals, no matter how far away your students are from California’s film centers. Contact your school administrators to see how you can tap into these funds to use the Kincade Productions’ “How to Be a Successful Production Assistant” in your classroom.

I'm seriously considering attending the webinar and applying for the documentary project fellowship. The project would capture my experience of being held in the Vancouver Police Jail in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, for approximately 16 hours overnight. This occurred when I was sick for a full day prior to a wrongful arrest by the VPD from my own room in a shared rental house in Kerrisdale area near UBC (University of British Columbia but nowadays racist joke of UBC? University of Billions of Chinese while there are tons of other East & South & Indo Asian students attending various academic courses in UBC, one of the most wellknown local academic institutions here in lower mainland BC, Canada, the unceded territory of Coastal Salish Indigenous Peoples various First Nations land.) The next day, I wasn't given a proper hearing. As a South Korean citizen and not Canadian, I was guided by the South Korean Consulate. Being an immigrant woman without immediate family to support my social security in Canada added to the situation. Additionally, the VPD officer misled me into signing a restraining order document. I initially refused to sign until I could speak with either a BC Supreme Court Justice (Judge) at a hearing or the Korean Consulate again in the morning. However, the officer assured me he would connect my calls from jail. The VPD disregarded all my requests for basic legal rights before any hearing or judgment, treating me as the "criminal" rather than the assaulted party. I'm contemplating a group interest lawsuit against the VPD and RCMP (potentially the BC Supreme Court system as well). This action would challenge potential violations of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as well as Canadian foreign affairs treaties with South Korea, regarding my rights as a South Korean citizen. This legal battle itself could easily become a feature-length documentary film project. The documentary would explore the violation of my social and human rights as a visible minority by Canadian authorities. It would highlight the lack of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices, particularly in conflict situations involving BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) individuals, whether Canadian citizens or immigrants (refugees, international students, foreign workers). This story would resonate with the experiences of racial violence through wrongful and inhumane police shootings and arrests of BIPOC people in the USA. Regardless of acceptance into this prestigious fellowship program for independent voices from social minority groups through documentary filmmaking, applying for this project itself would be an interesting and meaningful process. What an intriguing opportunity I discovered today!😀 😍 🤩 ☺️ 😃

As I started my new role as a CAPS Instructor in August, and for the past 4 months, many have been asking me, "What is CAPS?" Although I find it easy to articulate, many have a hard time grasping the concept. People are baffled by my description because it goes against the traditional norms of education. "You meet outside of the school?!" "They work with companies?" "Employers take them seriously?" It's all true, and if you want a good look at what CAPS is all about, and the impact it is having on students throughout the country, I recommend watching, "Where Students Lead" from the CAPS Network. This documentary perfectly illustrates what CAPS is all about, and the power it can have on the future of education. I'll just add, the CAPS philosophy and practice is making waves across the world. From asking elementary students big questions like what problems do you want to solve, to having high school students sign NDAs and help major companies tackle big issues, CAPS is changing the way we guide young individuals to pursue meaningful work and their purpose. If you haven't heard of CAPS, you should learn more, and this documentary will help you do just that. Check it out. #CAPS #CAPSnetwork #meaningfulwork #pursuepurpose #findingpurpose #careerdevelopment #cedarvalleycaps #CFCaps #documentary #education #authenticlearning #durableskills

I help parents reach their family’s college goals AND serve schools, companies, and organizations to engage, retain, and serve parent members/employees.
College students are moving (back) to campus and secondary students are moving to the next grade. When school starts, it is more difficult to make family time. And for college/college-bound students, once they leave home, they may only visit and never live “home” again. How are making pre-school memories? I’m at an outdoor film viewing at the waterfront w/family. What are some family-fun ways you keep connected during the year (outside holidays)? Add them below and let’s create even more family moments.

How can we effectively preserve 2-inch video tapes, and are there any alternative methods for playback to ensure their long-term accessibility? I would hate an order from management to decommissioned such much of history. #audiovisualarchives #videopreservation #filmarchives
