This is circularity. This is waste bioplastic from the production of Shoplight Ltd | B Corporation Certified’s innovative NORT Spotlight being recycled using the 3devo B.V. shredder. Once shredded, the plastic is reformed using our extruding machine ready to be repurposed as a new product. Soon we’ll launch a take-back scheme for our bioplastic products meaning we can recycle all major components and the plastic back into new products. 🌊👗 In an industry shaping alliance between deep tech and fast fashion, our portfolio company, Origin by Ocean, has launched a pilot project with Marimekko. Their mission: to substitute synthetic chemicals with natural thickeners in textile printing. ♻️🌿 Traditionally, the textile industry relied on synthetic thickeners for printing. However, with an increasing focus on the industries climate impact, a shift towards bio-based alternatives has gained traction. The pilot project utilises a sodium alginate thickener from Origin by Ocean, offering an environmentally friendly alternative sourced from sea weed that replaces the use of synthetic chemicals such as polyacrylic acids and vinyls. 🌱🍃 The product line has sold out, which also signals consumer demand for such product. Our sustainability strategy includes the responsible use of resources. Together with our partners Goetz + Müller and LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co.KG, our procurement team has optimised the printing process for the gold elements for Jägermeister labels in terms of sustainability: 🔄 💡 Significant resource savings: With a thinner transfer film, we save 50 per cent of our waste. By switching from 12my to 6my film, we have halved our PET film consumption for the same production volume, saving approximately 10.8 tons of virgin PET substrate per year. ♻️ Recycling initiative: Thanks to the Recosys 2.0 system from LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co.KG, the remaining material is returned to the recycling loop and processed into new transfer film. 👏 Leading the way: We are proud to be one of the first customers to use the innovative 6my transfer film.    Same look and quality for our iconic bottle and less impact on the environment.
