File under: double standards 📂 A recent opinion piece questioned #TaylorSwift’s role model status and the backlash was… swift. This is a stark example of the double standards women endure. Her personal life choices, whether it’s whom she dates or her decision not to have children, aren’t grounds for judgment. Men aren’t held to these standards, so why should she be? It’s time to celebrate women for their achievements, not their adherence to outdated societal expectations. While it’s not news that double standards exist, gender double standards actually hurt both men and women. Everyone suffers when society has different expectations simply because of our gender. By continuing to publicly call out gender double standards, we’ll foster communities and workplaces that celebrate everyone for their accomplishments, ambitions, and more!

You mean the artist who provides major bonuses to her tour crew, stocks food banks on cities she tours and donates millions to charities? Yeah, WHAT A HORRIBLE PERSON! 😂. These critics need to get a grip, seriously.

She wrote an entire song about this! #TheMan

Precisely that's why she is a role model! Strong, independent women do not need a man at all in their life for achieving success or any goal they might desire to achieve in life!

Welcome to the Middle Ages 😁 You can bet that if she had children there would be endless articles speculating on how she could possibly manage being a decent mother what with having a career and all.

Mmmmm are we sure about that? She did serve a college student with a cease and desist order for posting public information about her rampant private jet usage, but ok. Can we stop idolizing celebrities and billionaires yet? They all suck.

You’ve got to be kidding me…. Whoever thinks this way, stop the misogyny already. She is an incredible artist and more importantly, a great human — she continually gives back to society. How DARE anyone question her status as a role model. She is a legend. 💪

Just curious as to what 'a recent opinion' means. Was this a single article online or a scientifically calibrated opinion poll? How widely held is this opinion and where is it coming from? If it's just one bored hack on a rainy day ... that's an individual view. Or can we say this is an opinion held widely by society? Sorry not to rush in with agreement, but it's important to have transparency about the validity of this claim.
