THIS is an instant confidence booster! Who doesn’t want a way to boost your confidence AND nail your next presentation or important conversation? Read on… Don’t stumble. 📻 Instead, use walk-in music. I love to listen to an upbeat tune like “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars listen. 👉 Here’s the why: 🗣️ Walk-in music gets everyone relaxed, including you! People will start chatting. This is exactly what you want, AND it’s fun! 👉 Here’s the how: 🎵 Pick your favorite tunes: My playlist is what I listen to on the treadmill, and it’s always upbeat, and covers a range of music - on purpose. 💃🕺 Decide when to use it- ideally I play it 15 minutes in advance, and I like it LOUD. Here’s the results: ✅ One of my favorite clients said she couldn’t ratchet up the volume because she was in an office setting, so she played it for herself in advance. 🦁 What did she choose? Katy Perry’s “Roar”. ✅ How did she feel? She nailed her presentation! 🙏 Trust me, whatever music you choose, this works! What songs get you fired up? https://lnkd.in/gH3E9NRA #Presentation #Confidence #Music #RealEstate #IREMOC #BOMAOC

Still processing this trip to New York. 🤯 The amount of work that went into this show was incredible. My role was music supervisor, helping design & mix the show music. Finding the balance of songs that worked for PrettyLittleThing.com as a brand and also songs that worked for what Naomi wanted to represent. And of course I put 2 of my own music productions in there 😎🎛️ (tracks 3&4) What an amazing memory and such and incredible team I work with. Grateful 🙏🏼 https://lnkd.in/emN8sZHk

Famous early Elvis Presley recordings, 'All Shook Up,' 'Don't Be Cruel' and 'Return to Sender' were all written by African American musician Otis Blackwell and almost identically sung to how Blackwell had on his demonstration recordings. It’s obvious when you listen to the legendary R&B great, Roy Hamilton who the King of RocknRoll admired that Elvis Presley borrowed much of his vocal style from Hamilton. Listen to them both and you be the judge. Take a listen on YouTube. Why it’s obvious that Elvis Presley obtained his dancing style and vocal acumen from African Americans, the majority of people in the White community doesn’t give credit to the originators. Moreover, the Black originators were not compensated for their early input to RocknRoll. Many Black artists didn’t own the rights to their publishing and they signed bad record deals. As with many business dealings over the last century, it may come as no surprise to learn that the mafia has had its hands in the music industry. Several dodgy characters, particularly in the Italian and Jewish mobs, have played a hand in the development of musical ventures. The music industry was of great interest to the mob for several reasons. For starters, for a large part of the 20th century, many transactions were made in cash, including jukebox takings, drink sales at venues, artist revenue and vinyl sales. So too, was the music industry a perpetually moving industry, with constant new releases hitting the shelves. This meant that there was always money to be made. Music was also a central focus at many mafia-owned enterprises, such as nightclubs and bars. However, now that much of the music industry has become digitalised and the influence of the mafia on contemporary business has waned, the mob has largely left the industry. Some have also argued that the belief that the mafia controlled the music business is overstated. Jerry Wexler of Atlantic records said: “The mafia would like to control the record industry, but they have never managed to. They’re just on the fringes: selling cut-out records, pressing, independent promotion.” Just because they don’t control it doesn’t mean the mob has no past influence in the music industry. Organized crime influence explains why many artists have been “ripped off.”

My kids attend the fabulous SOUNDS Academy, learning to play the violin and piano respectively. Extracurricular activities like music lessons provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom, offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context. Recent research suggests that participation in extracurricular activities may increase students' sense of engagement with their school, thereby decreasing the likelihood of school failure and dropping out. #musiceducation #extracurricularactivities #educationresearch
