Was so inspired by Stanford University School of Engineering Adjunct Professor Andrew Ng and his STVP - the Stanford Engineering Entrepreneurship Center ETL talk about the Near Future of AI that I just completed his DeepLearning.AI course "Generative AI for Everyone" which is accessible to techies and non-techies alike. Thanks for making many of these courses open source and accessible for everyone! https://lnkd.in/gAC_A7j6 So many takeaways, a few highlights: 1. GenAI can #augment or #automate human tasks (not jobs). https://lnkd.in/giadPzCJ breaks down different types of jobs to their associated tasks. Not surprisingly, most jobs entail administrative tasks take us away from our core duties. My hope is GenAI can give us time back to engage in more strategic thinking and relationship building. 2. I really appreciated the concept of #retrievalaugmentedgeneration Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and the ability to incorporate texts into an updated prompt and responses generated from company documents or pdfs. So many new #entrepreneurial companies filling this need (e.g. pdf.ai, chatpdf, docanalyzer.ai to name a few) 3. Better Prompts!! Understanding the "why" and "how" has always been my learning style. I like to take things apart and put them back together again. The course gave a us a peek under the hood on how LLMs are trained and build. With simple and small adjustments to our prompts as well as experimentation, we will get much more useful results. There are no right answers, but there are better approaches which will take a lot of practice, practice, practice. 4. Responsible AI is not just about ethical use of AI, but also about fairness, privacy, security and transparency. By building organizations with a #culture and #diverse teams that can #brainstorm ways to guard against misuse and amplify the best of humanity, we can use this tool to solve our world's most pressing challenges.
