What an incredible experience! The drive up to Lime Rock Park in my R53 was smooth traveling, with no hiccups. Synced up with the FCP team at #GRIDLIFE and we raced a stock base R56 MINI in time attack on Friday. After the last session on Friday, we tore the car apart and transformed it into the REIN MINI CUPPER! New tires, wheels, brakes, Bilstein suspension, roll cage, Sparco race seat and an awesome livery! The modifications improved lap times by 10 seconds! I shared driving duties with Daniel Kruger, a very fast Sundae Cup competitor. He was able to pilot the MINI Cupper to within a couple seconds of the class leader with minimal seat time. Slipper pistons
A piston for a gasoline engine that has been as small and light as feasible is called a slipper piston. In the worst scenario, they are reduced to the piston crown, the piston rings' support, and the minimal amount of piston skirt that is left to create two lands and prevent the piston from rocking in the bore. Reduced away from the cylinder wall are the edges of the piston skirt that around the gudgeon pin. The main goal is to lower the reciprocating mass in order to facilitate high speeds and better engine balancing. Slipper piston skirts can be set up in racing applications to produce incredibly minimal weight without sacrificing the strength and stiffness of a full skirt. Diminished inertia
