Sat in on an AI panel yesterday and I thought this question was particularly telling when we raised our hands on either side of it. "Will the future of humans with AI be dark or light?" So what team are you on today? Team dystopia or team utopia? Why? I am currently on team dystopia but willing to hear arguments to pull me over to team utopia. Shout out to Rick Moy Darren Bennett Andreas Freund, PhD Darin Andersen Chaunce Hazelton and everyone else in the room. Apologies for missing some tags. #ai #artificialintelligence

I always find these kinds of questions fascinating and typical when it comes to people assessing technology: "Will the future of humans with AI be dark or light?" I understand this is how the majority of people will look at it, but I think it makes a false equivalence between the impact of the humans and the technology to what the outcome would be. What do I mean by this? A dark or light future will always be determined by the human. If the human is horrible, the question could be "Will the future of humans and forks be dark or light" and you could still get a dark future. Albeit on a much smaller scale, but the point is technology has always been a tool. We've used these tools to create art and masterpieces, and also destroy whole peoples and civilisations. This kind of perspective or framing is typical in tech, where we lump the liability equally on people AND the technology, like the a fork has a say in what we want to stab with it. Thanks Rick McElroy for the post- definitely an answer we're all looking forward to! P.S. I'm also team "Dark" but open to discussion 😁

Doesn't AI Voice sound super robotic? Who in the world will be listening to longer articles? That's the question we get A LOT at BotTalk Our answer is another question, of course: When was the last time your actually heard AI voice? Not your Siri? But modern Text-to-Speech? This post by Space and Lemon Innovations illustrates my point visually.
In July 2022, I created my first image on Midjourney. My prompt, "chicken with sunglasses on a beach," aimed to be something I couldn't envision myself. Fast forward to Space and Lemon Innovations Lemon Week 2024, and I revisited that prompt. The results are strikingly different! It's fascinating to see the evolution of AI image generation. Do you prefer the quirky 2022 version or the hyperrealistic 2024 take? What was your first text-to-image prompt? #midjourney #ai #generativeai #texttoimage #AIart

I must confess, I have committed the cardinal tech sin 😅- predicting what lies ahead in the world of AI this year! Four months ago, I wrote an article for our Shift report, detailing the next shifts we can expect in AI by 2024. However, four months are an eternity in the world of AI, so some of my predictions have already become reality! If you're interested, you can read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/exQigcga TL;DR: I've summarized my three predictions in a sleek carousel for your enjoyment! Thanks to Stijn Spanhove, Michiel D., Louis Ghekiere and many more for helping bring this article to life! #generativeai #ai #2024trends #FutureTech #AI2024
