As part of our 2023 Aviation, Aerospace & Defense Study we have analyzed the past results of the multi-hub strategy of Lufthansa Group, which is a critical cornerstone of their recent acquisition of a relevant stake of ITA Airways and the potential development of the Rome airport hub. Looking at Swiss e Austrian Airlines after 5 and 10 years from their full integration in Lufthansa Group, both airlines achieved a higher growth in their hubs compared to the growth of Lufthansa in their Frankfurt and Munich hubs. This might be a favorable prediction for the future growth of ITA Airways in the Aeroporti di Roma hub for national and international flights. #airlines #aviation #airports #aerospace #growth

300 ORDERS FOR THE #C295 AIRCRAFT. Following the success of the #C212 and #CN235, CONSTRUCCIONES AERONAUTICAS SA (#CASA), the origin of Airbus in #Spain, decided to launch the #C295, the natural evolution of the CN235, a slightly #larger aircraft with 50% more #capabilities. The programme was officially launched in 1996, #construction of the first #prototype began in early 1997 and the first #flight took place in November 1997 in #Getafe, Madrid. In November 1999, Spanish National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA) militarily #certified the #aircraft for the first time. The 35th Wing from the Spanish Air and Space Force operates its fleet of #C295s in transport configuration from the #Getafe Air Base. For example, these #C295s form part of the Ivory Detachment in #Senegal to support #Mali in the fight against jihadism. The #C295 first #flight took place in 1997, with the #Spanish #AirForce as its first #customer. Today, #India is its largest #customer with 56 #aircraft, the first of which was delivered in September 2023.
The Airbus #C295 medium airlifter has reached 300 orders, taking into account its different transport and mission versions, following the Republic of Kazakhstan’s acquisition of a third aircraft for the Aviation Service of the National Security Committee. This figure underlines the success of the Spanish and European aerospace industry, as the C295 is the undisputed leader in its segment with a market share of more than 80%. The C295 currently has 41 operators from 37 countries in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia,19 of which have placed repeat orders. The first flight took place in 1997, with the Spanish Air and Space Force as its first customer. When I read the news few days ago that Airbus C295 has achieved a remarkable 300 orders, it was heartwarming. Not just for the milestone achievement, this remarkable figure also celebrates the success of the Spanish and European aerospace industry as a whole. The C295 is designed and assembled in my home country Spain, its versatility, cost-effectiveness, and unparalleled reliability has undoubtedly catapulted its global success story. With 41 operators from 37 countries, the C295 is the indisputable leader across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Among them, India stands as the largest customer, ordering 56 aircrafts. The best part? 19 of these operators have placed repeat orders, which demonstrates the aircraft's exceptional performance and reliability. C295 is the outcome of Construcciones Aeronáuticas (C.A.S.A.)’s vision, when they decided to develop a slightly larger aircraft with 50 percent more capabilities. The Spanish Air and Space Force were its maiden customer in 1997. Since then, it has continued to fly high, reshaping the aviation landscape. Indeed, C295 is a symbol of perseverance and excellence. A symbol of our Industry. This week celebrating the Aerospace & Defense Meetings (ADM) congress in Sevilla. Cheers to @Airbus C295 and the countless adventures that lie ahead! #Airbus #Aviation

Next week's Singapore Airshow has a few anticipated highlights: Embraer's transport C-390 will be on static display. Following a successful year of orders in 2023, including South Korea, the OEM is positioning the medium airlifter as well suited to the APAC region. COMAC is sending a large contingent of two C919 narrow-body and three ARJ21 regional jets, with the C919 to fly its first international display. The Chinese C919, anA320-sized airliner, is aiming for a fifth of the global narrowbody market and a third of the Chinese market by 2035. This year's biennial airshow has the added backdrop of the maturing AUKUS alliance, contrasted against the first expected appearance of a Chinese military aircraft, the Changhe Z-10 attack helicopter, at an international air show. Boeing are somewhat conspicuous in their absence, with no aircraft flying or on static display. Airbus will be flying their A350-1000, with an A330neo and A400M on static. Business aviation will see a heavy presence in the mid-size range, with Dassault Aviation's 6X making its Singaporean debut after achieving certification last year, and BOMBARDIER, Embraer, Gulfstream Aerospace, HondaJet, Pilatus Aircraft Ltd, and Textron Aviation bringing a slew of jets. Parallel to the airshow is the Singapore Aerospace Technology and Engineering Conference (SATEC) 2024, a joint forum between the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE) with a focus on key developments and advancements in aerospace technology and engineering. See you in the Lion City. #aviation #aerospace #airpower #singaporeairshow
