Journalist and News Anchor

Excited to share some personal news with you. After nearly a decade, I've made the decision to step away from my role at Global News. While this may come as a surprise to some, for those who know me well, it's a move that has been on my mind for quite some time. It’s not lost on me that I have had the privilege of holding one of Canada's six national evening news anchor positions. Leaving when you're at the peak of your career can be daunting. But for me, it feels like the ideal moment to embark on a new journey. The landscape of television journalism is evolving rapidly, presenting abundant prospects within the realm of content creation. I am excited and invigorated be part the change. But before I dive headfirst into this new adventure, there's a story that's been itching to be told—a book that's been waiting patiently in the wings that will have my focus this summer. To all my loyal viewers out there, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's been an absolute honor. To my talented colleagues from coast to coast to coast, thank you for your encouragement, understanding and always bringing out the best in me. Signing off with gratitude 🙏🏽 ♥️

Thank you for representing us in there for years. That is one less voice who represents people like us in media. I saw hope when I saw you there. I have watched you from good old days as an immigrant in Canada. Felt good to see you in media. You will be missed. Can't watch to see what's next for you. You are an exceptional role model as a journalist, national anchor, and clearly an emphatic human being. As a journalism grad myself and a woman of colour, I appreciated seeing you deliver the news with such insightful competence and intelligence while exuding such warmth. I will miss watching you on Global, but wish you the very best.
