Are You as Fulfilled in Your Pharmacy Career as You Deserve to Be? Feeling that your pharmacist life has turned more into frustration rather than being fulfilling? Trust me, you're not alone on this. Stuck in retail, long-term care, or hospital settings, we often feel cornered. Battling the non-stop grind and chasing after that seemingly elusive work-life balance can be draining. I know what it's like — feeling more like a pill dispenser than a healthcare professional. Run off your feet, with no time to connect with patients. But what if there's a different way? Imagine a world with no quotas hanging over your head. Imagine actually having time to talk to patients — really talk to them — without the pressure of a line of people waiting impatiently. I've found that once you fill your pharmacy cup up, everything shifts — your work, your relationships, your whole perspective on life. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Hang tight — we're pulling back the curtain on a fresh opportunity for you in the pharmacy very soon. #CareerTransition #RemotePatientCare #PharmacyPractice"

As new graduate dietitians are now entering the workforce I really want to say one thing: Don't start a private practice as your first role. You will not only suck as a dietitian, but you'll suck at business. My best piece of advice is work for other businesses and other people FIRST. You all underestimate what you don't know, and working for others allows you to learn what is working and what isn't, and then build a business after that. I don't care how many followers you have on Instagram, that doesn't mean you are going to be a good dietitian for your clients - just like you know that an Influncer with 300k followers and a rocking body doesn't know half of what you know about nutrition. Followers don't mean anything, and you got into dietetics to help people right? Cause you care about doing a good job? Apply for as many jobs as you can, anywhere you can, and say YES. I promise you will look back and be happy you did. I would have NEVER had the success I did in private practice and in business if it wasn't for all of the knowledge and experience I gained working for other people first. Also, if you are a psycho and are going to do it anyway, at least arm yourself with some info - check out the Dietitian Life website for FREE membership and resources www.dietitianlife.com.au #newgraduates #dietitians #privatepractice

No more gate-keeping! 🔐 I'm going to tell you all about my experience so far working as a locum hospital pharmacist. 🏥 It's well known that pharmacists can locum in community settings but hospital locum work isn't as common. Even I hardly knew about it! Having worked several months as a locum, here's my take: The 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 of hospital locum work has been a game-changer for me. Being able to choose my hours and schedule has finally brought me an ideal work-life balance. ⚖️ The 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲: •It's much better than the standard hospital pay banding but not nearly as high as community locum rates.😅 •Rates vary based on the Trust and can be negotiable. •You don't get sick leave or annual leave. However, when I factor these into account, my pay is still better than as a band 7. 💸 To find a 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, I literally just made my LinkedIn profile "Open to work" and I let the messages roll in. 🤣 It's not been too bad. I have an agent to reach out to if I have problems, but I've not really had many. The issues I've had so far are all admin/ paper work issues. Another perk is the reduced 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. As a band 7 pharmacist, I'd typically be expected to take on audit work, managerial roles, or teaching. As a locum, these are optional. I appreciate the lower pressure and the freedom to focus on what matters most to me. I'm currently taking on pre-regs and doing audit work but at my own pace and I enjoy that! 📊 While offering flexibility and higher pay, hospital locum work also comes with varying rates and the challenges of agency work. Despite these, it's been a rewarding experience, providing a different perspective on pharmacy practice. #PharmacyLife #PharmacistJourney #HealthcareHeroes #NHSStories #ClinicalPharmacy #PharmacyEducation #HealthcareInsights #MedicationSafety #HealthcareProfessionals #RxKnowledge #PharmacyTech #PrescriptionTips #MedicationReview #PharmacyBlog #HospitalPharmacy #NHSMillion #MedicalBlog #PreregPharmacist #PharmacistLife #PharmacyStudent #NHSLife #NHS #Pharmacist💊 #PharmacyDegree #MPharmDegree #Pharmacy #PharmacistUK #MedicationManagement #HealthAwareness #PharmacyInnovation

Within the last year, I made a hard pivot from sales to clinical dietetics. It has been an exciting and emotional journey. Early on, I realized that starting out as a clinical dietitian in an acute care setting is filled with many challenges, especially with the increasing complexity and acuity of patients. Navigating this dynamic environment with little to no support can be daunting, but it’s also an incredible opportunity for growth. Here are five lessons I’ve learned to help maintain confidence and thrive. 1. Embrace Continuous Learning. In the world of acute care, every patient is a learning opportunity. Be open to new knowledge, whether it’s from journals, colleagues, or direct patient care experiences. This mindset not only keeps your skills sharp but also builds confidence as you become more knowledgeable and proficient. 2. Adaptability is Key. The fast-paced nature of acute care demands flexibility. Conditions can change rapidly, and protocols evolve. Being adaptable allows you to respond effectively to these changes, making you a more resilient and capable dietitian. 3. Seek Support and Mentorship. Even when formal support is limited, look for informal mentors among your colleagues. Experienced dietitians, nurses, and doctors can offer valuable insights and guidance. Building a network of trusted professionals can provide the support you need to navigate complex cases. 4. Trust Your Training and Intuition. Your education and training have equipped you with the necessary skills. Trust in your knowledge and clinical judgment. Remember that it's okay to make decisions and learn from the outcomes. Each experience adds to your competence and confidence. 5. Self-Care is Non-Negotiable. Caring for critically ill patients can be emotionally and physically draining. Prioritize self-care to maintain your well-being. Regular breaks, healthy eating, exercise, and mental health practices like mindfulness or journaling can help you stay balanced and focused. Starting in acute care can be overwhelming, but remember, every challenge is an opportunity to grow. Stay confident, keep learning, and support one another. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of our patients. #ClinicalNutrition #AcuteCare #DietitianLife #ContinuousLearning #Adaptability #HealthcareHeroes

Happy Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Day! Did you know that Aramark is one of the largest employers of RDNs in the country, with more than 600 RDNs just in Aramark Healthcare+ alone? These indispensable providers ensure that we are meeting our patient’s nutritional needs through their clinical, culinary and leadership skills. Many RDNs also have expanded their careers in Aramark and have taken on non-traditional roles. As President & CEO Bart Kaericher wrote to our RDNs today: "Thank you for your expertise, unwavering dedication, and for the remarkable work you do each day. Together – We Serve, Solve, and Strengthen!" #WeAreAllCaregivers #nationalnutritionmonth

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist | Nutrition Communicator | Food Allergy Dietitian | Compulsively Curious
Are you missing some of the most important information from your professional organization? This morning I got a text from someone about a particular issue in our state dietetics group. I asked how she'd heard about it and she said she got an email over the weekend. 🤔 I didn't get an email. A separate email to our state President (Kristin Cuculovski) later and I found out that I'd accidentally somehow unsubscribed! If you're like me, you probably get so many emails. It's easy to overlook - or to overdo the unsubscribe option. I sometimes hear from colleagues that the Academy "isn't doing anything" for them. I beg to differ. There's actually a LOT happening in advocacy, continuing education, representing the RDN in a variety of ways, and even more. Want to see more done? Get involved. What I've learned is that the more you are involved, the more you know about what's happening - and the more you can have influence. If you're a dietitian in Georgia, I hope you're subscribed to the GEORGIA ACADEMY OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS INC newsletter so you can keep up with what's going on. Want to do even more? Fill out the form to get involved. There are short term and longer term opportunities. There's always more than enough to do. https://lnkd.in/e65pfiXS And if you're a dietitian anywhere, I hope you're getting the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and ACADEMY OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS FOUNDATION newsletters too! They are a great way to keep up with what's happening in our profession and on our behalf.
