Picture making a breakthrough in a Coaching session. Helping someone see their potential in a whole new light… That’s the power of a thoughtfully crafted question. But, as a new Coach, what should you consider when asking questions? Here’s a pointer to set you on the right path: Start with open-ended questions. Encourage expansive responses and promote self-reflection. These questions typically begin with words like “what,” “how,” “tell me about,” and “describe.” They prompt the individual to provide detailed answers rather than simple yes or no responses. As a Facet5 Practitioner, you have access to over 300 questions to support your Coaching and Facet5 debrief process. Good design. Makes me happy. Makes my head hurt.

One of the best coaching questions, when used well*: "tell me more about that" Take it a level deeper, and ask them to lead the way. *Of course use this sparingly and with genuine curiosity. Or else you become the "and how does that make you feel" psychoanalyst comic strip character.
