What I have learned from running a collective in the Division III Space. Through strategic participation in NIL collectives, Division 3 universities can seize newfound opportunities and transform the collegiate sports landscape, establishing a pathway for sustainable success and growth. 1️⃣ Community Development and Outreach: Through collective initiatives, universities can strengthen their ties with local businesses and communities, fostering a symbiotic relationship that benefits both parties and boosts the university's standing within the community. 2️⃣ Brand Exposure Amplification: Collaborative marketing efforts within a collective can amplify brand exposure for university programs, fostering stronger fan engagement and bolstering the school's overall image. 3️⃣ Financial Empowerment for Athletes: Successful NIL collectives enable student-athletes to access a broader range of opportunities, empowering them financially and encouraging academic and athletic success. 4️⃣ Alumni Engagement and Support: A thriving NIL collective can foster stronger connections between current student-athletes and alumni, leading to increased support and donations for the university's athletic programs and academic initiatives. 5️⃣ Enhanced Recruiting Power: By leveraging the strength of a collective, universities can attract top-tier student-athletes with promising NIL opportunities, creating a competitive edge in recruiting battles. Day 3: #LinkedInSportsChallenge What recent trends have you observed in sports and how are they shaping the future? As a student-athlete, I have seen how prominent NIL is becoming. Some student-athletes are making more money than professional athletes. NIL is not only transforming the culture of college athletics but even some High Schools. Last month, Governor Mike Parson signed legislation allowing college coaches to have an active role in endorsement opportunities, allowing high school students to be able to make deals after signing the commitment papers. As of May, there were a dozen states that prohibited high school students from profiting from their name. It will be interesting to see if those states will continue to prohibit the trailblazing movement or join in on it. In just 2 years NIL has become a game changer. I am excited to see how it will evolve in the next 5. #sports #sportsindustry #nil

Unlocking influence: What can athletes, artists, marketing professionals, and creatives learn about brand building? - Author, Film Producer, Keynote Speaker, NIL Thought Leader, Educator.
How to succeed at being a College NIL collective? As of this month, there are over 120 College collectives. Although I do not work in the collective space, I engage with individuals who do on a daily basis. Based on my conversations, here is what I have gathered. * It's hard to raise money consistently * Athletes in the transfer portal are shopping for their options * Running a collective is lots of work, it's a complicated business model * Power five, revenue-generating sports affiliations are where the news is I am interested in assisting collectives who are looking for ways to establish #sustainability and #longevity . Education can be valuable in providing genuine #nil opportunities to support your athletes. By teaching them to be self-reliant, they can rely less on the collective for their needs. Meaning your money goes further. The Players NIL does not represent brands, we don't negotiate deals, we are a NIL playbook to build life skills that are #attainable and #retainable. Let's work together to use this newly created industry as a platform for good. Let's change lives forever. 🏀Using Basketball as a Powerful Vehicle for Development🏀 At Athletes of Tomorrow (AOT), we believe in leveraging the game of basketball to foster academic and personal growth. Our mission is to provide young athletes, especially those overlooked and underserved, with opportunities to excel on the court and in their academic pursuits. By positioning our athletes for NIL deals and college scholarships, we ensure they have the resources to succeed both now and in the future. Recently, the sports world was shaken when Arkansas secured John Calipari, with major commitments to NIL resources. This shift highlights the growing importance of NIL in shaping college basketball’s landscape. At AOT, we understand that to compete at the highest levels, our athletes must be prepared not just physically but also socially and emotionally. The recent success stories of programs investing in NIL and achieving remarkable results reinforce our commitment to equipping our athletes with the knowledge and support they need. We remain dedicated to fostering an environment that prioritizes mental health and holistic development, ensuring our athletes are ready for all challenges they may face. #Basketball #AthleteDevelopment #NILDeals #CollegeScholarships #YouthSports #MentalHealth #HolisticDevelopment #AAUBasketball #CommunityImpact #FutureStars 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gdtaYU3v

🏀📘 The new NIL era has transformed college sports, mirroring professional leagues in pace and stakes. At Athletes of Tomorrow (AOT), while we recognize the benefits of NIL for student-athletes, we're also mindful of the challenges it presents, especially for those from underserved communities. The shift towards a "pay-for-play" model has heightened expectations on athletes, not just to perform, but to constantly prove their worth, leading to an increase in coaches asking players to enter the transfer portal. This evolving landscape requires a new kind of support system. At AOT, we are committed to preparing our athletes for these realities, ensuring they understand their rights and options. We strive to empower them to make informed decisions about their athletic and academic futures, helping them navigate the complexities of NIL deals and transfer decisions with integrity and foresight. As the lines between amateur and professional blur, our role in guiding young athletes to succeed on and off the court becomes even more crucial. We are here to support, educate, and advocate for our athletes, ensuring they can leverage their skills and opportunities to build successful futures. #AthletesOfTomorrow #NIL #CollegeSports #StudentAthlete #HigherEd #SportsEthics #YouthEmpowerment #BasketballAndEducation #CollegeBasketball #NILRights #EducateAndEmpower #TransparencyInSports #AthleticScholarships #NavigatingNIL #FutureLeaders https://lnkd.in/ekd7PZ_i

College sports may be heading towards a new era with NIL and the transfer portal, but not everyone is happy with these changes. According to a recent post, these initiatives will reduce opportunities for a number of athletes to get an education. In fact, the post suggests that it may lead to the reduction of athletic programs in smaller schools. While room, board, tuition, and books are great, the post highlights that student-athletes may not have the funds to take their girlfriends out or buy new clothes. The author suggests that a stipend of $200/month would be a great solution to this problem. However, the post argues that these two initiatives are overboard and will limit opportunities to around 60 schools. What do you think about these changes? Do you believe that these initiatives will limit opportunities for student-athletes? Share your thoughts in the comments below! #CollegeSports #NIL #TransferPortal #StudentAthletes #EducationOpportunities

can d2 give athletic scholarships Understanding Athletic Scholarships at Division II Schools: A Comprehensive Guide Athletic scholarships are a vital component of college sports, offering talented student-athletes the opportunity to pursue higher education while engaging in competitive athletics. At Division II (D2) schools, these scholarships play a unique role, balancing the rigors of academic achievement with athletic excellence. Unlike their Division I (D1) counterparts, D2 schools often operate under a partial-scholarship model, which presents its own set of opportunities and challenges for aspiring athletes. ⚽️🏀👩🎓🏈⚾️📉🥎🎾💰🥍🏐💭 The NCAA transfer portal is a complex issue, and it's important to remember that we are talking about 18-24 year olds. Before admonishing a student-athlete for their choices, please keep this in mind. 👩🎓 According to a 2015 report, 37.2% of college students changed schools within six years, with 45% changing institutions more than once. Interestingly, student-athletes transfer less often than their non-athlete peers. 📉 The question arises: why the heightened concern? It could be attributed to the intersection of emotions surrounding financial matters, particularly with the advent of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), or perhaps due to the elevated expectations placed on student-athletes.💰 What are your reflections or personal encounters with this subject? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments or reshare to spark a broader conversation. 💭 #NCAA #studentathletes #transferportal #sportsnews #collegesports
