🌵 Howdy, Nora Johnson here! If you’ve ever swung by our booth at a trade show or simply seen a post about our upcoming events, you’re familiar with my work. 😉 Our external-facing events are where our tech comes to life — and as the Sr. Field Marketing Manager, that’s where I step in. From planning major events like GSX to managing a 6’ table at a partner roadshow, I handle all aspects of our presence. My goal: to ensure we deliver an "Ambient class" experience. 👑 This means digging into the details, prepping our team for whatever comes their way, and deciding how best to showcase our world-class tech. 🙌 At these events, attendees can explore new features, test out our threat detection, and more. Back in April, we took ISC West by storm and became the talk of the expo with an immersive demo experience. Seeing the amazement on attendees’ faces as they “got it” made all my work leading up to ISC worth it. 🌎 Looking ahead, we have so much more in store for this year's events! Here’s what set the top 2 founders apart from the 5 others competing at TiE Dallas to head to Globals in Singapore: ➡️ they rehearsed the pitch enough so they weren’t cut off at time ➡️ they referenced their own slides during Q & A for backup ➡️ they clearly described the problem, solution & what’s proprietary to them ➡️ clear use of brand imagery/graphs relevant to the brand ➡️ clear outline of why they win against the competition What made a few other pitches weak: ❌ talking over time & not respecting the cutoff from the judges ❌ not answering questions directly ❌ not including a competitive analysis ❌ using industry jargon that was too complex for a generic audience There’s much more to this story. Year 2 of spearheading the American Advertising Awards for AAF Black Hills and I am SO excited to see what our local creatives enter into our competition this year! 🙌 Have you been thinking about submitting your work? Let me clear a few things up: 1. You don't have to be from the Black Hills to participate! The rules allow entries to be submitted to the nearest Ad Awards, which means that entries from neighboring regions like Wyoming are welcome to join us. So, don't hesitate to participate! 2. Our judging process isn't about categories; it's all about the quality. Each submission is evaluated based on specific criteria and scored from 40 to 100. The highest scores earn those coveted gold and silver ADDYs. 3. You don't need to be part of an agency to enter. If you're a freelancer or part of an internal marketing team and you've crafted something you're proud of, we want to see it!
