June is Fireworks Safety Month. The spectacular displays are a sight to behold, but when watching them, but sure to prioritize eye safety. Thousands of eye injuries occur each year due to fireworks, so we're passing along some tips to keep your eyes safe: - Wear Protective Eyewear: Always use safety glasses if you're handling fireworks or watching up close. - Keep a Safe Distance: Stay at least 500 feet away from where fireworks are being lit. - Supervise Children: Make sure children are at a safe distance and always supervised. - Avoid Sparklers: Sparklers burn at 1200°F and can cause severe eye injuries. The Cincinnati Eye Institute Foundation (CEIF) recently celebrated the opening of its inaugural optical center for patients who are non-insured or supported by Medicaid. This initiative is the first of its kind in Ohio and will serve residents who have previously experienced financial barriers to vision care services. CEIF is on a mission to ensure equitable access to quality eye care services for all individuals, regardless of insurance status or income restraints. The optical center represents a giant leap in fulfilling its mission of promoting eye health and vision wellness in the community. EyeCare Partners supported the optical center with a donation of eyeglass frames as part of our mission to advance eye care for patients everywhere. #ElevateEyeCare #OpticalCenter #Nonprofit #CEIFoundation #Cincinnati
