The Inclusive Careers Fair 2024 was an incredible experience for Expedians in Singapore, and the perfect chance to share our mission and values with a wide variety of attendees through panels and learning sessions.
At ICF, we were thrilled to launch the Well-Traveled with Pride platform, where we center stories of the LGBTQIA+ community, and reminding us that travel is for all.

I tried to reschedule a flight I bought from Expedia. The agent on the chat said it was better to cancel and to get the credit so I could re-book with more flexibility. I accepted. Expedia only allowed me 1 flight option that was far more pricey than what they advertise on their website. I called about 10 times to speak with different agents. Almost 24 hours on the phone trying to solve this. I ended up accepting it and paying +$800 because I am in a rush. They charged me immediately and they sent me a confirmation email, a booking code, and individual tickets. 1 hour later I received an email to notify THAT MY FLIGHT WAS CANCELED. I cannot even see my credits in my account. The chat agent takes ages to look for info. The call center agents start looking into my problem and then disconnect. I am desperately asking for help to get my flight or my money back.
The Inclusive Careers Fair 2024 sounds like an amazing event! It's inspiring to see Expedia Group actively promoting diversity and inclusion through initiatives like the Well-Traveled with Pride platform. This truly underscores the importance of creating welcoming spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community in travel.
How do you envision the Well-Traveled with Pride platform evolving in the future to further support and amplify diverse voices in the travel industry?
Inclusive Careers Fair 2024 was a vibrant celebration of diversity and opportunity.
Under-represented communities came together in an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm, discovering pathways to fulfilling careers. The mood was electric as attendees networked, explored new opportunities, and felt the power of inclusion.
This event showed the importance of spaces and conversations where anyone can thrive. Inclusion is not just a concept but it should be a vital part of every organisation.

Engaging with the younger generation is vital to our vision of using the built environment as a force for good. Mutual understanding between generations will help sustainability and social value to remain core values of development.
It is with these aims in mind that we attended Babbasa’s Aim High Careers Fair last week to help encourage young people into the industry, read more below about the importance of having these conversations with the workforce of the future:

Unpacking Careers Fairs: the real benefits of attending
Last week, we kicked off the first of our series of impactful careers fairs in Bristol.
It was truly heartening to witness a buzzing arena where exhibitors and attendees alike left with optimism and genuine connections.
Now, we’re bringing that same energy to Manchester today, with Birmingham and London on our horizon in the forthcoming weeks.
Why immerse yourself in an EqualEngineers Careers Fair?
Beyond the obvious networking opportunities, our events are meticulously crafted to open dialogues and build bridges between inclusive employers and diverse candidates.
We don’t just host; we facilitate conversations, paving the way for real change in workplace diversity and inclusion.
A brief yet inspiring video testimonial from Simon Frampton BA (Hons) FIRP, a delegate from our Bristol Headline exhibitor, Wessex Water, beautifully captures the essence and impact of our events, shedding light on the tangible and intangible values that unfold in these interactions.
We’re not only creating events but cultivating environments where equal opportunities aren’t mere buzzwords but brought to life.
It’s about enabling employers to directly tap into a pool of potential that is rich, varied, and incredibly valuable in driving forward innovative engineering solutions.
And for candidates, it’s a unique platform to visibly stand before employers who genuinely value diversity and inclusiveness.
We understand the perennial challenge of aligning training with core values and ensuring innovative and relevant content.
Our events strategically align with this, offering a rare and invaluable platform for your engineers and tech professionals to assimilate real-world skills, understand the various nuances of the industry, and, most importantly, experience firsthand the impactful confluence of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Get involved, immerse your organisation in real, actionable diversity and inclusion initiatives, and witness the transformative power of equal opportunity in engineering and technology.
We look forward to fostering these crucial connections together.

November is Future Ready Skills for International Students month!
Key takeaways -
💪 Know your strengths, it's your job to sell them to an employer.
🔍 Know your skills gaps and use your time at university to address them.
⌚ Get organised, job applications can be like an extra module!
👞 Wear flat shoes when presenting because the room was long and heels were a silly idea.

🌟 Evolution's First-Ever Internal Career Fair! 🌟
I'm thrilled to share the exciting news that we recently hosted the first Internal Career Fair here at Evolution Latvia! 🎉
This event opened up new opportunities for our internal team members.
🔍 Navigating Career Opportunities:
Imagine 15 different teams, all under one roof, presenting simultaneously throughout the day all around Evolution premises. It was a day dedicated to shedding light on responsibilities, role offerings, and the essential skills and traits that might help our employees find and decide on a team and role where they would see themselves in the future. This event wasn't just about information – it was about empowerment, about curiosity and awareness of possibilities within our company.
📚An Inspiring Day of Learning:
Our attendees had the chance to listen to 30-minute presentations prepared by different teams, followed by Q&A sessions. To add an interactive twist, each team they visited stamped their “card,” giving them entry into a prize draw for some fantastic gift cards.
🚀 From Idea to Reality:
Turning an idea into reality is always a challenge by itself, but Evolution truly offers the possibility for innovation and trusts us to make it happen. The support and advice from colleagues along the way is what made it possible in the first place. Of course a big thank you goes to the participating teams and their representatives who kept an open-mind and agreed to something that hasn’t been done before and no-one really truly knew how it all would go.
💡 Lessons Learned:
This comes as no surprise that any journey comes with its challenges, but they become stepping stones for growth. Looking back, I'm confident that the experience we've gained will guide us towards even greater success next time. Through retrospection, we'll refine our approach, improve smoother operations for an even more impactful event the next time around.
🌱 Nurturing Career Aspirations:
One of the most rewarding takeaways for me was seeing how much our employees value career-related events. Amid all of the possibilities, our role is to provide guidance, helping them make a decision on their own course and align their goals for the journey ahead.
Thank you to everyone who made the Evolution Internal Career Fair possible! Here's to embracing new possibilities. 🚀🌟#Evolution#EvolutionLatvia#teamwork#EvolutionCareerFair#career

Like my dad would start off when he was going to say something potentially offensive..."how do I saaay..."
If you or your company are not recruiting at the #NSBE Convention...then, respectfully, what are you doing?!? 18,000+ attendees were at #NSBE50...representing ALL of the Engineering disciplines and science and technology fields ranging from machine learning and medical to cyber, materials, and information systems.
MANY of the attendees had law degrees or MBAs reflecting the vast diversity in thought and educational background. MANY of the attendees were Researchers...some had Military experience...some already had secret clearances...and some were looking for their very first opportunity!
There were over 1,000 Pre-College Initive (PCI)/NSBE, Jr. attendees and more than a handful who are already doing research or have started their own business. There was a separate Graduate School Conference and multiple Special Interest Groups (SIGs) ranging from Transportation to Aerospace and more.
But MOST OF ALL you had a CommUNITY of LEADERS who fought and scrapped to get themselves and their chapters to the convention. In my informal statistical study over nearly 30 years of NSBE membership I can state with a fairly wide confidence interval that no other student or professional organization has as much of a role in the day-to-day activities of the chapters as NSBE student leaders! Sure, they have an advisor, but the onus is ON the student leaders to run, manage, and plan in both the long and short-term.
Then...these STUDENT leaders become STUDENT Regional Leaders...then STUDENT National Leaders...or Conference or Convention Planning Chairs. What senior or graduate student do you know chaired a 30,000+ member organization or managed a $60,000+ budget planning a regional conference before they finally returned the keys to their dorm room? And just for the supplemental cherry on top, NSBE Professionals and the phenomenal World Headquarters (WHQ) Staff ensure consistency and provide counsel while adroitly add the extra 'umph' when required.
You might not need an engineer, but you should want a NSBE engineer in your organization. They make excellent staff, project managers, researchers, and problem solvers. NSBE is huge on organization, legacy, and culture. Maybe you don't have it in your budget for the biggest booth, but at least give your best effort for a few years and send your best people to reflect your corporation.
So, if you're not recruiting at NSBE Conventions, I would suggest you ask your #HR or #recruiting staff..."why"?

The #NSBE50 Career Fair was LIT! 🔥 A huge shoutout to our incredible exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and all of our attendees for turning up the energy and making it an epic success! Can you spot yourself in the video?
We also want to congratulate all who landed a job or internship on the #NSBE50 Career Fair floor, and to those of you who hustled, networked and gained valuable new connections. Share the good news of your job/internship in the comments so that we can celebrate you!👏🏾🎉
And don’t forget to save the date for NSBE Gold in Chicago next year - the impact and legacy continues.🌟 #NSBE50#CareerReady
