Sean Smith is a junior completing an internship with Taylored Physical Therapy, a physical therapy company specializing in orthopedic and sports injury prevention and rehabilitation. Nate Taylor, owner, says that having interns offers a great opportunity to connect not only with the students but with the community and was happy to give Sean the environment to grow and learn more about physical therapy. “It’s personally very satisfying to see the growth in the students throughout their time here and we are happy to have an environment that can support and push them. The students do a great job getting some of the basic tasks done around the office and grow into excellent representatives of our business and become a valuable part of our team.” To read more about Sean, our featured intern for the month, and his internship experience, please visit our website: https://buff.ly/4bAOhk5

My expierences at my internship this month was amazing once again. One thing that I learned is how the therapist wraps a patients hand while the patient is holding a rope that they pull if a patients hand is weaker than their other hand. Another thing that I learned is how the therapist deals with vertigo patients when they can’t walk very well, which is that they do different twists and turns on the bed slowly with their whole body and their head. Another thing that I learned is that there is a technique to build endurance, which is called the tongue method, the way that you do this method is that you sit up and in 30 seconds you see how much you sat up in those 30 seconds. One last thing that I learned is that there can be something that can be inserting into people that already do the electrical stimulation, so that way when you come to the therapy office they don’t have to do stem, and it’s also so that a certain part of the body can heal more properly than if you were to do it in the therapy office.

Just finished reading a fascinating case report on hydrotherapy for ankle sprains in professional athletes by Javorac et al. (2020). Reflecting on my own internship experience, where I witnessed the incredible benefits of hydrotherapy firsthand with my colleague in ankle sprain patients. From pain alleviation to swelling reduction and enhanced range of motion, it's inspiring to see how hydrotherapy aligns with real-world success stories. Hey student physical therapists! Want to become an expert in your field? Here are some tips that I learned while in PT School to excel in school and be prepared for your professional journey. Doing these things gave me the confidence to start my own practice 2 months after graduation and now our company has 5 clinics! 1. Stay organized and prioritize your tasks effectively to manage your workload efficiently. 2. Develop strong study habits and seek help when needed - don't be afraid to ask questions or collaborate with classmates. 3. Engage in hands-on experience through internships or volunteer work to get a practical understanding of the field. By consistently working towards your goals and seeking opportunities for growth, you'll be better equipped to progress in your career as a physical therapist. #PTstudent #FuturePT #PhysicalTherapyJourney 🏥💪

I am a student at Uintah High School. Working towards my CNA. Interning at Ashley Regional Medical Center in the Physical Therapy department.
A challenge that I have faced throughout my internship is that sometimes there are no patients that come in during the time I am there. To resolve this challenge I begin to ask the physical therapist questions like about schooling, job, money, ect. I feel like by doing this, it has still made that hour that I am there beneficial and helps me get a better understanding and helps me know for sure that I want to become a physical therapist. #CTEInternships #PhyscialTherapy #Challenges #Questions

I'm a student at Exeter Township Senior high school. Future a cardiothoracic surgeon. And Christian.
One of the many interesting things I learned here at my internship is how sometimes bleeding is created on the bones to provide healing. This experience has helped fuel my passion for medicine and provided me with more understanding of the OR environment. The most challenging part of my internship has been understanding the anatomy at a small level. In addition, my favorite part is the open procedures.
