In DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), operator precedence determines the order in which operations are performed in an expression. When you have multiple operators in a DAX expression, operator precedence controls the sequence in which these operators are evaluated. Let's say you have a product table with the following columns: 1. PurchasedPrice 2.SellingPrice and 3. Quantity If PurchasedPrice is $5000, SellingPrice is $8500 and Quantity is 50 in stock. How would you calculate ExpectedProfit using operator precedence consideration in DAX? When you have expression that requires multiple operators, the order of evaluation becomes very important. How would you solve this problem in DAX? #dataanalysis #dax, #powerbi, #excel

A quick #tableauprep #tip. If the text size in Tableau Prep is unusually small, you probably accidently pressed "Ctrl+minus key" "Ctrl+plus key" has no effect but "Ctrl+0" will bring it back to the regular size.

Day 37 of my #dailyTableau challenge I spend more time editing my data than building dashboard today. The challenge is that I just collect data manually around the internet on the subject matter that I'm researching. So every once in a while I'll update the underlying Excel workbook source file. Previously I assumed that a 'live' connection would mean that it would automatically refresh when I select (Data >> Refresh) but the data did not update. I learned today that I should have used 'extract' as I'm saving it as .twbx If saving the work as a *.twbx file, extract the connection to the text file first. If the connection to the text file should be live, then always save the workbook as a *.twb file. .twb extension does not contain any data source while .twbx extension is like a 'zipped' archive containing a .twb and the data source. https://lnkd.in/gcNa_nXP

In Excel, generate a row using every N columns of data 🤣 🤣 The solution of the original problem is so tedious, look at the minimalist solution of SPL 😋 In the following Excel worksheet, starting from the 2nd column, every N columns of data forms a group. Take N=2 as an example: Our task is to transpose columns to rows: use every two columns of data in each row to generate a new row, that is, expand each existing row to three rows; keep the 1st column ID; and add a new 2nd column whose name is No and which contains ordinal numbers of the newly expanded rows: Use SPL XLL to enter the following formula: 😍 =spl("=?.conj(ID=~(1),~.m(2:).group((#-1)\2).(ID|#|~))",A2:G7) Explanation 👇 👇 👇 ~.m(2:) means retrieving data from the 2nd column of the current row to the end. The group() function groups the data every 2 columns. To group the data every 5 columns, just modify parameter 2 to 5. If you find SPL is interesting, you can download It is currently free. 🤩 Join our group: https://lnkd.in/gyW-YFer 👏 👏 👏 #excel #vba #analyze #formula
