🛠 NEW TOOL 🛠 On several occasions I have seen the need for splitting multiple fields simultaneously. In Alteryx, this requires a bit of a workaround by way of pivoting data, using N Text To Columns tools (where N = the number of fields), or creating N separate branches, splitting to rows and then re-joining them all. Needless to say, none of these options are as straightforward as they ought to be. Therefore, I'm happy announce the Multi-Field Text To Columns tool! As the name suggests, this macro carries the exact same functionality as the standard Text To Columns tool (with 2 exceptions), but allows users to apply this to multiple fields at once. So what are these 2 differences in functionality? 1) When splitting to columns, the 'Output root name' is no longer available. Due to the Multi-Field nature, the root is just the original field name followed by an index. 2) I have added an extra feature on the back of a great suggestion for the original tool from Kenda Sanderson & Mark Thompson - when splitting to columns, users can elect to drop the original fields as these are very often surplus to requirement after parsing. I also wanted to give a shoutout to Ira Watt as well for his fantastic blog (https://lnkd.in/eBggmP9T) on packaging macros into actual .yxi Alteryx installer files - the Multi-Field Text To Columns tool will now automatically install to the 'Parse' palette, complete with description etc! Hopefully at least a few people can make use of this tool. As usual, feel free to leave any feedback, criticism or suggestions for future assets/content! The macro and example workflow can be found via the link below! https://lnkd.in/ep-HmiXu

How many times has your development team set out to build yet another data table component? Sometimes AG-Grid or Kendo UI tables are perfect for your needs, but other times you need that custom built to support your functionality and performance goals. Here's a case study on a complex data table component build and performance optimization our team did as a part of ongoing Digital Transformation efforts for a current client: https://lnkd.in/gvCFFRVB

Complex spreadsheets including VBA macros are widely used for stochastic calculations across the financial services sector and in particular in insurance. In many instances these spreadsheets have expanded over time beyond their original design parameters. Consequently, there are challenges around governance, versioning and performance. However, these spreadsheets often contain months or even years of work so are valuable IP. evo-insight reuses that IP by embedding it within a powerful web application that provides enhanced security, controls and governance combined with a high-performance compute environment essential for stochastic calculations. The attached article outlines in more detail how evo-insight can supercharge your spreadsheets. #evoinsight #zenithactuarial
