Today the UK has awoken to a major shift in support for its main political parties following the results of the UK General Election. #Labour is returning to power for the first time since 2010 with a huge parliamentary majority of 174. The new government will bring change to the UK, particularly for UK investors and businesses. Regulatory reform, liberalisation of the planning system, nationalisation of the railways, changes to employment rights as well as further devolution of powers to enhance local infrastructure are all key manifesto pledges from the Labour party. The creation of a National Wealth fund and Great British Energy will also bring change to how the public sector engages with, and secures, private sector investment.
