Pre-formulation screening: Evaluating molecule stability in various formulation conditions   Following last week’s post about our new #developability service, I’m excited to share another Early Phase option. We have launched a #preformulation platform approach to assess antibody stability in 80 different formulation conditions.   While pre-formulation screening is a well-established practice at Coriolis Pharma, we have carefully selected optimal formulation conditions and analytical readouts. With 16 years of experience in drug product development, our approach enables new antibodies to enter Phase I trials sooner than ever before.   Unlike many pre-formulation screening setups that focus on a single sampling readout, we include two additional sampling points post forced degradation. Moreover, you won’t have to worry about the analytical readout. Last year, RheaVita BV and Coriolis Pharma established a collaboration on the novel RheaVita freeze-drying technology. ❄ This week, the core teams from both companies met in Munich to exchange on the current status of activities at both partners. Thanks to Alain Segers, Joris Lammens and Thomas De Beer visiting us, we had great discussions with Brecht Vanbillemont, Maitê Harguindeguy, Tim Menzen, Andrea Hawe, Julia Baumgartner, Michael WIGGENHORN, Johannes Clemens and Frank Schaubhut. I learned a lot of new and interesting things around the drying technology and its scalability. 💡   💉 It really looks like the concept of RheaVita can make a difference for many classes of molecules and products (list may extend with further know-how being established at both partners): 1️⃣ #mRNA-LNPs and viral vectors (e.g., #AAV, #Ad, #HSV, #retrovirus, #lentivirus) ⏩ all of these molecules can benefit on the high freezing rate of 50 °C/min, which we cannot achieve with traditional freeze-drying 2️⃣ High-concentration #mAb formulations ⏩ due to the spin freezing concept, the thin product film after freeze-drying allows for significant faster reconstitution times 3️⃣ Products with large vial sizes ⏩ the total freeze-drying time using a 20R vial size is almost the same as for products using 2R vials   If you are interested in evaluating the RheaVita technology for your product 💊, please do not hesitate to contact my colleague Julia Baumgartner or me.
