🗣 Irma, Maria, Fiona. These are not friends or relative but hurricanes, extreme phenomena that happen more and more frequently and with which we have to learn to live with. When I started 35 years ago at the National Weather Service Office in San Juan, there was a council of climate change which was studying for example Coastal erosion sea level rise. But that seemed like far away those things were going to happen in the future. The future is here ! And now we are facing people dying from hurricanes, from heat waves. People are suffering in the communities because of the impacts of climate change. The economic, the environmental and the social impact on climate change are happening NOW !
