❤️This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and dedication are the bedrock of our freedom, and we are forever grateful. 👂As we commemorate these heroes, let's also remember the importance of hearing health, especially for those who continue to serve. Many veterans and active service members face challenges such as hearing loss and tinnitus due to their service. Addressing these issues is not only about improving their quality of life but also about showing our respect and gratitude for their sacrifices. Let's ensure our loved ones, especially those who have served or are currently serving, receive the care and attention they need for their hearing health. Regular check-ups, early intervention, and proper management of tinnitus can make a significant difference. On this day of remembrance, let's commit to supporting our heroes by raising awareness about hearing health. Their service deserves nothing less than our full support and care. Wishing everyone a heartfelt Memorial Day filled with reflection, gratitude, and a commitment to the well-being of those who have given so much for us. ❤️ Give the gift of tinnitus relief - check comments for download link #tinnitus #tinnitusrelief #memorialday #veterans #hearinghealth #hearing #hearingaids #mentalhealth #tinnitussupport #tinnitusawareness

Did you know that Veterans are largely distributed where VA facilities are not? About 50% are found in the 2621 counties lowest in health care workforce with 40% of the population and 45% of each of the worst health plans due to concentrations of elderly, poor, disabled, and weakest employers. Medicare/Medicaid/CMS designs have closed hundreds of hospitals and countless practices over 40 years in these 2621 counties - one of many reasons that Veterans access care less than they should. The concentrations of worst public and private insurance plans shape deficit of workforce and access that hurt everyone, particularly those with many factors stacked against their care. There is indication that veterans are slightly more likely to arise from areas that have lower paying employers. The 2621 counties most behind do have weaker employers. Many seek military careers due to better "employment." Those seeking better from these counties are joined by many from families that have a tradition of military service. Veterans make a number of financial, physical, and mental sacrifices that force them to move to lower cost counties that have available housing. They must depart higher concentration counties where costs of living are worst and where available housing is in decline. They chose military service and their investment and income opportunities were reduced. Veterans map out as Red County distributed for most in 2016 maps and VA facilities are Blue County major metro - about as far away from the well distributed veteran population as possible. The 2621 counties lowest in health care workforce map out as Red Counties with rural (40 million) and urban (90 million) populations but include the bluest of the blue rural counties predominantly Native American, African American, and Border Hispanic Understand the financial, physical, and mental forces shaping the lives of veterans and sending them to lower cost of living - and counties lowest in health care workforce. Home visits in rural and urban AZ revealed veterans as in some of the worst living conditions - condemned urban apartments, trailer homes with roof holes And we know about the delays in care, administrative cover ups, employees with lower pay but great benefits (and lower volume), and the Health Info conversion problems So expect to see more Veterans in CHCs and our most financially challenged practices if you are employed by a CHC or practice in the 2621 counties most behind, because you are more likely to be where they are.
Happy Fourth of July! Community Health Centers are proud to serve 400,000 veterans annually and thank them for fighting for the freedom we celebrate today. #ValueCHCs

As someone who is heavily focused on growing both personally and professional, collaboration is a key part of that journey. I not only want to BE that person to help other, I want to HAVE others help me. We are not meant to walk through life alone. One of the ways I do that is by teaching women ways to reduce stress in both their mind and their bodies, so that they can move through their days in a healthier way as well process any 'stories' they may be telling themselves that are keeping them stuck in self-judgement, fear or overwhelm. It's one of my all-time favorite tools to share. #collaboration #LivingATHENA #leadership #awareness #knowledge #efttapping #stress #anxiety

💐 Our mothers and their mothers probably never talked about collaboration but they practiced it ― quilting bees, helping with children, nursing ailing loved ones, joining forces ― all inclinations as old as civilization itself. Collaboration is about the WE as opposed to the I. Helping others find their power doesn’t diminish our own. The Value of Encouragement “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Encouragement is a powerful action that shows how much a person is valued. Some may think that a simple phrase like "Wow, I see your efforts! Keep up the good work." is just general positive conversation, but to the person it's directed towards, it could mean the world. We may never truly know what someone is going through, but we do know that our words and actions have an impact on the people around us. Words of encouragement can give people the strength to keep going towards their goals, or to help them regain their confidence when they're feeling uncertain. This week, we're celebrating Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW), and we invite you to join us in showing appreciation for our public service workers. Let's come together to like, repost, comment, and share so that we can let our public service working men and women know just how valuable they truly are to us! #PublicServiceRecognitionWeek #PSRW #ServiceWorkers #GovermentEmployees #City #State #Local #Federal #VASpotLight #IServeBecasue #GovPossible #Proud2Serve #Proud2ServeUSA #NIH #Thanks #YouRock #EmployeeAppreciationDay #InGoodCompany #PublicServants #RecognitionWeek #FocusOnGreatness #Question #VALife #WorkatVA #Veterans #VeteransService

🏅 Tiny Titans: The Children Who Care for Our Veterans 🌟 Introduction Children in the homes of wounded warriors often take on significant caregiving roles, providing essential support to their injured parents. These young individuals balance their lives while ensuring the well-being of their families, showcasing resilience, compassion, and strength. 📜 Historical Background Traditionally, caregiving was seen as an adult responsibility. However, with more soldiers returning home with injuries, children have increasingly stepped up, reshaping the caregiving landscape. The Caregiver and Veteran Omnibus Health Services Act of 2010 aimed to provide support, but the unique needs of child caregivers are often overlooked. 📅 Significant Milestones Organizations like the Elizabeth Dole Foundation have been pivotal in advocating for child caregivers, highlighting their contributions and challenges. Their efforts bring much-needed awareness and support to these young heroes. 🌐 Impact on Society/Industry Child caregivers highlight the need for comprehensive support systems that address the physical, emotional, and educational needs of military families. Schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations must collaborate to offer resources that ease the burden on these young individuals. 🔮 Legacy and Future Outlook The legacy of child caregivers is one of strength and resilience. As awareness grows, future initiatives may include specialized counseling, educational support, and financial assistance to help young caregivers balance their responsibilities and personal growth effectively. 💬 Conclusion The stories of children caring for wounded warriors remind us of the incredible capacity for empathy and strength within our youth. Society must acknowledge their contributions and support their sacrifices. Working at USAA, where I support the military community and their families every day, I am continually inspired by their dedication and resilience. This experience reinforces the importance of our mission and the critical need to support these hidden heroes. 📢 Call to Action Join the conversation on supporting young caregivers in military families. Share your thoughts using #SupportYoungCaregivers and #MilitaryFamilyStrength. Let’s build a community of support and recognition for these hidden heroes. #USAA #USAAEmployee #UnitedServicesAutomobileAssociation #Leadership #Culture #MilitaryCulture #FinancialServices #VeteranSupport
I was deeply moved by the “Children of War” segment that re-aired last night on 60 Minutes that features the important work of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation in supporting military and veteran families. The story serves as a reminder that the cost of war isn’t always visible, and millions of families, importantly children, are making sacrifices for our freedoms every day. I'm proud to serve on the Board of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. The work of the foundation is critical to the health and wellbeing of our nation’s 5.5 million military caregivers. As an association that exists to serve the military community and their families, USAA is committed to lifting these organizations up to ensure veterans and their caregivers have timely access to the resources they need to take care of our nation’s wounded, ill and injured veterans. 🌟 **Monday Thoughts - Focusing on Goodness** 🌟 In our lives, we have countless opportunities to make a positive impact. I aim to live by these words often attributed to John Wesley: “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.” These words remind us that our ability to create change is limitless. Through our work, relationships, and everyday actions, every act of kindness contributes to a better world. Let's strive to: 🌍 Make a difference 💡 Serve with purpose 🤝 Foster kindness 🏆 Aim for excellence Here are a few volunteer opportunities in Washington, D.C., specifically aimed at serving veterans: 1. Senator Cory Booker has created great resource in the New Jersey Veterans Handbook, a comprehensive guide to help veterans in the Garden State access the benefits, services and opportunities they have earned through their selfless sacrifice. Please share with any veteran who lives in New Jersey. This detailed handbook covers a wide range of topics, including: 🇺🇸 Healthcare services and benefits from the VA 💰 Employment resources and financial assistance 🏡 Housing support and homeless prevention 👨🎓 Educational opportunities and career training 🧘 Mental health resources and counseling services No matter what challenges our veterans may face after their service, this handbook aims to connect them with the programs and support systems available right here in New Jersey. We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to the brave men and women who have defended our freedom. The New Jersey Veterans Handbook is a powerful resource to ensure they receive the care and benefits they deserve. I encourage every veteran and their family members in New Jersey to obtain a copy of this invaluable new handbook by visiting booker.senate.gov or calling Senator Booker's office. #njsosvets #senatorbooker #veterans #veteransupport #veteranservices #NewJersey #veteransaffairs #community #connections #knowledgeispower
