CONGRATULATIONS TEAM Unilever!! I am delighted to share that Unilever has had a record year at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, winning a total of 35 Lions – 2 Grand Prix, 5 Gold, 9 Silver, 19 Bronze and 65 shortlists in addition to being named Creative Marketer of the Year 2024!   It was fantastic to see the breadth of performance across our portfolio. Brands such as Dove, Magnum, Marmite, Pot Noodle, Sunsilk, Vaseline, Axe/Lynx, Brooke Bond Tea, Cleanipedia and LUX were recognized across 17 categories.   Special shout-outs to our two Grand Prix Winners, Magnum and Vaseline. Magnum was awarded the Grand Prix for Outdoor for ‘Find Your Summer’ a campaign that delivered the highest low season in history with a 66.3% increase in sales. Vaseline was awarded the Glass Lion which celebrates culture-shifting creativity for its 'Transition Body Lotion'. Dove delivered a strong performance once again, winning a total of 13 Lions and it was AMAZING to see AXE return to the scoreboard with its first Lion in eight years, winning Gold for ‘The Power of a Fragrance’ in the prestigious Film category.   We are SO proud of our performance and return feeling energized and inspired! All week, we’ve been deep in discussion on how we push our brands even further into the next chapter of marketing - Growth Marketing, converting our best-in-class creativity further into commerce. It’s where we saw some of the most exciting work at this year’s festival and an area I captured in my keynote titled YOU.   It was such a joy to share my reflections on how Unilever has established its reputation of always pushing creative boundaries. Here are my three key takeaways:   ✨ See a whole person, not just a consumer to sell something to. To unlock the full potential of creativity and innovation, we need to take a deeply HUMAN approach. 🎨 Creativity builds unmissable superior brands that stand the test of time. I had the pleasure of celebrating our BEAUTIFUL brands, two of which have reached 20-year milestones this year. Our 6 billion euro brand, Dove, with its campaign for Real Beauty, and Dirt is Good, our 4 billion euro family of laundry brands. 📈 Every moment is a creative moment, and every moment is a commerce moment. Growth marketing starts with creativity but it doesn't stop with inspiration, it connects to commerce at every touchpoint.   Thank YOU to everyone who contributed to this year’s success and congratulations again to all our winners and shortlists.
