A #happyworkplace starts with recognizing what is important to your team members. This week at RC Mowers, some of our engineering team members hypothesized how many heads of lettuce they could consume in one sitting and ran the experiment. Adding comradery, some healthy competition, and lots of laughs is what this small event meant this week. So proud to work with a company that values the things their team does...even a lettuce challenge. For those that I have enticed with the challenge, our answer was 2... 2 heads in one sitting. Any workplace want to perform their own experiment? We are happy to go "head-to-head" in another challenge. #lettuceentertainyou

Lesson learned on teamwork! We caught a 700-pound, 110-inch-long bluefin tuna this past weekend. It took us four hours and six of us to get this giant. One person would not have achieved this task. We all contributed in different ways; my role was of being the photographer and cheerleader, my husband was the very strategic and muscle man, my older son was pure excitement and helper for the captain, my youngest, who slept most of the time, was very involved in helping to bring the fish on board. The captain and Tommy were leading and coaching us for the 10 hours of the trip. In summary, it doesn't matter what experience level or skill you have. If you have good leadership, a team, and the will to catch a giant, you can do it. #leadershipmatters #teameffort #teamwork

This photo doesn’t do the last few days justice. Conferences(Assemble Holidays would be a more appropriate name) often seem to come at a time when you don’t want to be away from your desk etc. BUT wowee was it great to let the hair down over the last few days, get to know people from our sister businesses better and to get the “good oil” from some of the best in the business about what’s helped them be successful in business and to build successful businesses. The common denominators were the importance of hiring good people, with shared values, who will add to an already great culture, be kind and to provide opportunity. Look forward to the next one.
