In the heart of Polish tradition lies Tłusty Czwartek, or Fat Thursday, a pre-Lenten celebration that embodies the spirit of indulgence and community. This day marks a significant moment in the Polish cultural calendar, offering a unique insight into the country's rich heritage and communal values. It's a time when businesses and families alike pause to partake in the joy of feasting, highlighting the importance of tradition in fostering unity and cultural identity. As we explore global traditions, Tłusty Czwartek serves as a fascinating example of how cultural practices can bring people together, offering valuable lessons in community building and cultural appreciation. Why not treat your colleagues to some tasty treats today to join in the celebrations, or use our recipe below to treat your family? -Mix 500g of plain flour, 60g of caster sugar, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. -Stir in the zest of 1 lemon and 2 beaten eggs. -Melt 40g of unsalted butter in 150ml of milk, then combine with the dry ingredients to form a dough. -Knead well, then leave to rise in a warm place until doubled in size. -Roll out the dough, cut into rounds, and fry until golden. -Fill with strawberry jam and dust with icing sugar. #CulturalHeritage #TłustyCzwartek #GlobalTraditions

Lets take a #break from #Tourism and talk about Cultural Significance in Office Culture. #Oktoberfest 🍺 is now behind us, and it's a suitable time for #reflection. This year, I indulged a bit too much at the world's largest #folkfestival. In fact, I was even invited by a few companies to join their table and also attended with my colleagues from Geisel Privathotels (which is nicely called #GeiselWiesn) However, upon reflection, I realize that this may be perceived differently in a different setting. A few years ago, while working for another company in Israel, an American colleague was offended by a team-building activity that involved alcohol. In Germany, having a beer is not particularly unusual (though it's worth noting that Oktoberfest beer is stronger). The legal drinking age for beer and wine is only 16. However, in the United States, where alcoholism is a concern for many, such activities might inadvertently pressure someone into drinking for the sake of the job. This serves as another reminder of the importance of #localculture and the need to #respect it but at the same time to learn and know your colleagues. It's a lesson that can go a long way in fostering a harmonious and inclusive #workplace. #happy Simchat Tora to all. and for the Algorithms here are 10 #facts about #beer: https://lnkd.in/eV2BCRjM

Thanksgiving, is not a global holiday nor is it a popular celebration in every American household... However, if we were to unpack the celebration, and dissect the purpose & value of reflection and giving thanks, there's a few lessons that apply beyond this annual celebration. Turkey Day Take aways that can be applied to our jobs, workplaces, and even the employee experience. 1. Who do you save a seat for at the table? - Are you intentionally creating space & opportunities for those that would otherwise might not get a chance... 2. What are you contributing to the celebration? - Beyond the great wine & tasty food, personally, I always come prepared with stories to share & memories to reminisce on. Similarly, bringing your full self FIRST is a great opportunity to model what vulnerability in the workplace and on your team could & should be like. 3. How are you navigating the "hard" or (un)comfortable conversations? - Not everyone will have the same opinion, however, there MUST be group agreements to create safe spaces for ALL to show up authentically & feel free to SPEAK UP! You don't want a table filled with all the same opinions nor do you want a monoculture that does not encourage nor celebrate individuality & diversity of thoughts and culture. Do you have any lessons learned at Thanksgiving that are parallel to organizational culture & behavior? #vulnerable #leadership #safespace #speakup #culture #purpose #belonging #dei #organizationalculture #organizationalbehavior

Brilliant Evening, here's your #eveningsnippet! Here's an example of a typical breakfast in Barcelona! Just grab a piece of toast, cut up a fresh tomato and a small piece of garlic and rub them across the toast. Add a generous sprinkle of olive oil over it (thank you to Suzy for demonstrating!) and you have a healthy breakfast to start your day! Why not try that for your Monday breakfast to give you a healthy start to the week? https://hubs.ly/Q02hWS9M0 It's one of the little cultural bits Veronica Lind, CEO of Brilliant-Online brought back with her from one of her trips to Spain. 💃🏼🇪🇸 #brilliantevening #brillianteveningsnippet #brilliantonline #brilliantmagazine #Spain #SpanishBreakfast #Barcelona
