Team ERA gathered to support the Deafinitely Durian Extravaganza on July 7th. Together, we raised awareness for the Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) and their vital work, while celebrating the spirit of our community.
We were also honored to have Mr. Lim Biow Chuan, Member of Parliament for Mountbatten GRC, join us as our Guest-of-Honour at this meaningful event.

📣 Our #UPR Submissions are in! 📣
한미래 | Korea Future submitted not one, but two complementary stakeholders reports to the #UN Universal Periodic Review mechanism on the #DPRK for its upcoming cycle.
(1) In our first report, we examine the widespread #violations of human rights committed across the penal system, while
(2) In our second report, we join forces with @Eum Research Institute & @UNISEED to shed light on #SGBV and #Women's #Rights
We are confident that these submissions will continue to establish the immediate and irrefutable need for international action and structural changes in the #DPRK society.

Happy Friday! I hope you had a nice week and take the opportunity to relax and rest this weekend and do all the things you love 🙌
May is Asian Heritage Month in Canada and Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the US. No matter where you live, it is important to learn about and celebrate their rich heritage, and find ways to break down barriers for Asians all year round.
This is why today I am sharing this article and inviting you to take the steps to become an ally against anti-Asian racism. The article emphasizes:
✅Education on the history of the issue.
✅Bystander intervention training.
✅Listening to victims.
✅Reporting incidents.
✅Donating to relevant organizations.
✅Social media awareness.
✅Supporting Asian-owned businesses.
🤔 In addition to these recommendations, think: what else do you think you can do?
👉Click on the article, read the recommendations and be a better ally for your Asian friends and colleagues. Have a beautiful weekend! 😎

⚖ On #International#Justice#Day, we reaffirm our commitment to meaningful justice for victims and #accountability for perpetrators in #North#Korea.
Today, we release our submission to the #UN Special Rapporteur on #DPRK human rights, informed by our engagement with global accountability mechanisms.
👉 Despite the DPRK's commitment to international human rights treaties, domestic institutions fail to provide justice, leaving no other choice than to seek redress externally.
On this day, we urge the global community to support #North#Korean#survivors facing severe human rights violations. Their pursuit of justice requires our collective action and dedication.

Youth from marginalized and vulnerable communities are faced with a lack of resources, information & exposure. Most of them are first-time learners, and hence lack guidance and support systems. As a result, few marginalized youth are able to utilize existing schemes & policies for their development. Further, challenges of social discrimination have significantly dented their self-confidence and self-esteem. All of this combines in limiting their ability to effectively address their problems. It is imperative that such youth have access to platforms which enable them to overcome these challenges, chart out a life trajectory and discover their true potential.
Thanks to Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies for believing in youth work.
Those of you who know me personally, would also know about my passion for dance. Between 2017 and 2022, I had the privilege of collaborating with exceptionally talented dancers from El-Funoun PDT.
As part of this collaboration, I had the opportunity to both produce and perform in 'Curfew,' a piece that many of you had the chance to witness.
The message conveyed by 'Curfew' has never been more pertinent and urgent.
In the face of injustice, what is your response? Do you choose to take responsibility, or do you opt to maintain the 'curfew'?
Things you can do at these tragic times:
- Email your MP today to demand an immediate ceasefire and accountability to international humanitarian and human rights law. Medical Aid for Palestinians has a ready template to facilitate this: https://lnkd.in/eDReMuwc
- Donate to charities on the ground, such as Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
- Share widely the Human Rights Watch report, 'A Threshold Crossed' with all your contacts to raise awareness on, and condemn occupation, siege, and apartheid. https://lnkd.in/eJa9kb-m . You can also explore additional reports and resources from organisations like Amnesty International.
- Amplify the voices of Palestinians: Utilise all your platforms to disseminate these
- Engage in campaigns
Would you take responsibility, or rather keep the curfew?

While around 97% of the articles published in the Lithuanian media are anti-migration, only 2% represent migrants’ stories. Such use of dehumanising language has been used as a weapon against the migrants, causing suffering for many who experienced violent pushbacks at our borders. It is essential that we shed light on the individual stories of these migrants which are often hidden from the public view; the reality is unsettling but it is for this reason that it has to be shared.
Director of HRMI, Martynas Jockus, shared the work of our NGO and our mission on Civil Liberties Union for Europe platform. Discover how we are making a difference in speaking loud for those who cannot and our various initiatives aimed towards creating a more inclusive society.
