In the narrative of community support, each donation is a turning point at Bright Path Center. It's the moment when a family going through hardship finds a hot meal on their table, when an individual facing food insecurity receives a box of groceries that restores not only their energy but also their hope. Your contributions script success stories—of resilience, recovery, and rekindled dreams. They allow us to weave a network of services that not only meet immediate needs but also address the systemic barriers to food security. Join us in this mission. By donating, you're not just supporting a cause; you're becoming a co-author in a story of positive change. Liability and Commercial Assets Insurance Specialist @ BFL CANADA | Technical Risk Management Solutions and Flexible Programs for Medium and Large Business
It seems like this summer is filled with a lot of exciting projects and developments, from new construction builds and software rollouts to expanding core operations to serve a growing market. It's great to see this growth and optimism, especially after the uncertainty that has affected our businesses and lives in recent years. However, it's not just businesses that are seeing increased activity. Not-for-profit organizations are also facing more challenges with the same budget constraints and higher operating costs while still fulfilling the needs of those theybstrive to support. Organizations like the Cool Aid Society of Grande Prairie have dedicated teams working tirelessly to support their causes. For instance, the Cool Aid Youth Program underwent a significant facelift this year, thanks to the efforts of Barbara Feltham-Brentnall and her team. The infrastructure upgrade and the time invested by the staff and volunteers have resulted in engaging, fun, and educational summer camps for the kids. These programs not only enhance the lives of the children but also fulfill a crucial need in our community. With everyone being busy this summer, I urge you to consider supporting societal initiatives that help keep your community strong. Not-for-profits are facing rising costs, but support can come in many forms, such as sharing skills, providing art programs, donating day-to-day supplies, or offering career guidance. Even leftover supplies from construction projects can make a difference in these communities. Don't forget to lend a hand to organizations like these this summer. A little help can go a long way within your community, often in ways that have a lasting impact you wouldn't initially realise.
I continue to be astounded by the generosity of my community. Today, at Cool Aid Society, the youth center I am proud to be a part of, we received a dishwasher thanks to a generous donation from a private donor. Living in a community that supports each other fills me with gratitude. Thank you, Kirtis Siemens, for your generous support! #CommunitySupport #Gratitude #ThankYou

Our impact report for the month of April is here! First things first - it’s not just about the numbers; it's about the lives we touch. Together, we've donated 1,119 items in April, reaching out to those in need and making a tangible difference in their lives. Every donation counts, and every act of giving creates a ripple effect of positivity. This month, we received 49 donations, each one a testament to the compassion and empathy of our supporters. Though slightly fewer than March's 65 donations, the impact remains just as profound. Our efforts have directly benefitted 533 residents, providing them with essentials and necessities they may have otherwise gone without. Looking forward, we see 283 open needs as of May 6, a significant increase from the 77 in March. But with each need comes an opportunity for us to make a difference, to extend a helping hand, and to spread hope and kindness. None of this would be possible without YOU - our amazing community of donors, volunteers, and supporters. Your dedication, generosity, and passion drive our mission forward, and for that, we are endlessly grateful. Let's continue to stand together, to lift each other up, and to make a positive impact in the world. Together, we are changing lives, one donation at a time. #CommunityImpact #GiveBack #SpreadKindness #TogetherWeCan #MakeADifference

Last week, my family spent a couple of days up north helping my husband, Don Riedthaler and the Ignite Northwest team, in their company’s test kitchen make and package meals for hungry kids. Between Don and I having worked decades in the restaurant industry, owning a restaurant of our own and having Don (aka Dad) as the primary cook at home, we have an abundance of food surrounding us, especially around the holidays. It felt so good (thanks to the powerful happiness hormone, oxytocin) to spent time in service to others. In the process, I noticed 3 benefits that parallel the neuroscience research in this article written by Brian de Lottinville https://lnkd.in/ggG4wUY3 1. Synergy 2. Cooperation 3. Connectedness More benefits observed: 1. Empathy 2. Laughter and play 3. Conversation 4. Future strategic planning and decision making It’s no wonder companies invest in team building where bonds can be formed. Though, upon reflection, the experience of helping others (for me) trumped some of the more prescriptive team building activities I’ve witnessed or participated in (karaoke bars, and escape rooms come to mind). What has your experience with team building been, and what are the possibilities for designing these opportunities with others in mind? If neuroscience fascinates you too, check out this article by Ritvo who writes about the neurochemical drivers of happiness: Dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin make up the Happiness Trifecta in this article: https://lnkd.in/gqrX5QDA
#hungry #children - Two words that should never go together! Did you know that 1 in 8 children in #washingtonstate face hunger every day. None of those children make the choice to be hungry… Ignite Northwest prides ourselves in doing our part and giving back to our community, and this year we partnered up with Shawn Walton and #StLeosParrish with a commitment of 100 prepared meals…but little did we know that when we asked some of our local business partners like Jeff Winter w/CMA, who donated $500! and Jason Wirth with Bargreen Ellingson who donated a SUV full of to-go packaging and apple juice, we would be pushed to make more than 100 meals. Inspired by Jeff’s donation, I personally matched his gift and we now had $1,000 towards to purchase of food and supplies to make over 300 MEALS!!! A special shout out to the team at Ignite, specifically Ryan Devereaux who donated two days of his time to help make these delicious meals, and my wife Janell Payne and our family who also pitched in to help out! We are now devoted to make this an annual event and next year, stay tuned as our next #goal is 500 meals between #thanksgiving and #christmas #givingback #foodserviceequipment #foodbusiness #hunger #childrenshealth #foodbanks
