🚀 We’re on the verge of a new era - AI assistants will soon understand us on a personal level and take actions on our behalf, like booking an Uber or getting a dinner res with just a voice command. 🐇 The Rabbit R1, unveiled at #CES2024, is the first device on the market trying to make AI personal assistants a reality. 🤖 The real game-changer is Rabbit’s software. Dubbed the ‘Large Action Model’ (LAM), it represents a shift from the traditional Large Language Model (LLM). Rather than processing vast amounts of text, video, and images, the LAM is trained on real user behaviors within apps. It’s designed to replicate your specific actions, whether that’s booking a ride, shopping online, or making dinner plans. 📈 Last I read, the R1 already has 40,000 pre-orders, which says something about how excited the market is for this kind of tech. 🤔 But will it really take off? Idk… are we going to be carrying around our phones and a Rabbit R1? Feels like this is something Siri should be able to do already... 💰 For the price of $199 (with no additional fees), I’m curious enough to find out for myself! How about you? #Rabbit #LAM #PersonalAI #largeactionmodel #ai

Like the video says at the start: Do you want to see what great, customisable, and consistent text-to-image generation is about, but you don't have the technical know-how to wrestle yourself past complex dependencies and scripts? Tech always finds an answer. This can be considered the 1.0 version of the App/Play Store for AI. You install the browser, click what you want, a bar fills, and you can go. If you don't like it, you can install it and it doesn't leave behind a pile of garbage on your system. This is the next step of making tech accessible (or "democratizing AI" in its lingo) and remember, it's only 9 months since that ChatGPT and Dalle-2 started the AI craze. #transformation, #technologytrends #artificialintelligence https://lnkd.in/e__i8BCj

WE MUST GET READY FOR THIS NEW AGE OF GENERATIVE AI There’s plenty of momentum right now behind the bid to position generative AI as the next new thing. “With many [puzzle pieces] dropping recently, a more complete picture is emerging of LLMs [large language models] not as a chatbot, but the kernel process of a new Operating System” “Looking at LLMs as chatbots is the same as looking at early computers as calculators. We’re seeing an emergence of a whole new computing paradigm, and it is very early.” https://lnkd.in/dkr4fqtF

I am reassuringly expensive because I fix technology strategy problems. Organisations often engage me to clean up avoidable 'messes'. Call me before you make any tech change decisions; it will be cheaper for you.
IMO, #AI is going through the classic hype cycle, particularly generative, and it is mid-way to the top. We haven't yet reached the peak, but early to mid-2024, the slump will happen vertically and really quickly, too, with the gradual rise taking much longer to achieve. #AI in solutions 'will just be' - it already is happening in many products; the key is to keep up to date with what you already have and ditch the products that are behind others. In accounting software, there are tools that if you are using them and hoping they'll improve, you are using a Box Brownie camera where everyone else is using an iPhone 15. Alan #onlyfirms
