Today marks my last day as Ireland's Financial Services Attaché. It has been a privilege and a career highlight to serve in this role over the past 3+ years, representing my country and working alongside so many experienced and dedicated colleagues in the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Finance and the EU Council. Tomorrow I embark on a new adventure, as the Head of the Central Bank of Ireland's EU Representative Office in Brussels. I'm looking forward to strengthening the Central Bank's presence in the European Union and to continuing my family's journey in this great city of Brussels.
Best of luck in the new role. Thank you for all you did as attaché, you represented Ireland with consideration, thoroughness and rigour that few possess. The ability to form alliances, see the bigger picture and negotiate compromises were hallmarks of your time. Well done and hopefully our paths cross in the future. Barry
