USAID's Measuring Impact I & II helped biodiversity programs create a culture rooted in learning. Learn, Adapt, Repeat shares learnings from conservation practitioners, including local implementing partners, on applying adaptive management practices across the Program Cycle. An important takeaway: local community input is key to ensuring strategic frameworks contain an accurate depiction of local context. #EarthDay https://hubs.la/Q02t08lr0

🌍 Read to learn how the System of Environmental-Economic Accounts Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA EA) can transform the way we approach ecosystem preservation and protected areas (PAs). Our research showcases its potential to enhance PA planning, management, and investment decisions, fostering a more integrated development approach. 📈 SEEA EA can have a big impact on achieving the global biodiversity conservation target by 2030 under the Kunming-Montreal Framework. 🌱 Read the full paper 👉 https://lnkd.in/eJ7Jj4Jz #EcosystemPreservation #BiodiversityConservation #NaturePositive

Experienced leader with a proven history of addressing complex challenges at the nexus of development and environment.
What fun! I got to highlight my favorite things: evidence-informed decision making and great tools that help development practitioners do better work. Thanks Environmental Incentives, LLC for providing the purpose and the platform for this great work! #EarthDay
USAID's Measuring Impact and Measuring Impact II supported biodiversity programs to use evidence-informed decision making—maximizing impact rooted in learning. If we want to get better and improve our impact, bridging the gap between evidence and action is crucial.

As the primary pollinators of over 75% of flowering plants and crops, bees are essential for maintaining a healthy, balanced environment. Without them, our world would be a much less colorful and productive place. Unfortunately, bee populations have been declining at an alarming rate due to factors like habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate change. This is a serious concern, as bees are responsible for pollinating over $30 billion worth of crops each year in the United States alone. But there is hope! By taking simple actions like planting bee-friendly flowers, reducing pesticide use, and supporting local beekeepers, we can all do our part to support these amazing creatures. 🌺🐝🌱 . . . #bee #pollinators #bepartoftheplan #worldbeeday #partoftheplan
The youth can be pollinator heroes, too! 🐝 Check out this infographic from FAO to discover some simple actions the youth can take to create supportive environments for #pollinators, starting right at home. How can we ensure the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework is successful in halting extinctions and ecosystem collapse and reversing #biodiversity loss? We need to ensure the sites identified for protection are in the right places, meaning we must agree on a definition of "areas of particular importance for biodiversity" for countries to use. Head of the Key Biodiversity Areas Secretariat Andy Plumptre explains why in our new blog. https://bit.ly/3SsDlwL #KeyBiodiversityAreas #KMGBF

Over nine days, we are sharing the 9 different sections of The Global Biodiversity Standard manual for assessment and best practices. Section 5 covers how TGBS uses field surveys to assess ecosystem integrity, the level of protection, stakeholder engagement and social benefits and monitoring, evaluation and adaptive management activities. The field survey is implemented by our hub partners who have the local knowledge of biodiversity and social contexts, making them best placed to provide a robust assessment of sites. Our network of assessors is well-trained in biodiversity survey techniques providing reliable, independent verification of any changes in biodiversity at a site.
