Last night, some of our team members attended the Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association (CMAA) Annual Meeting at University of Massachusetts Lowell Innovation Hub. Enterprise Banker, Chris Dias, serves on their Board of Directors as their Treasurer and presented the finance report to celebrate the continued growth of the CMAA. Thank you to everyone that attended this event to make it a big success and to the CMAA for all they have done over the last 40 years to make contributions to the Greater Lowell community!

“What makes BGF different from other growth funds goes beyond the numbers.” Skilful reporting by CA Magazine’s Kitty Finstad who talks to Euan Baxter, an investor in our Edinburgh office. Euan covers: ✅ BGF’s approach as a multi-sector investor specialist that isn’t limited to a niche (reflecting the makeup of the UK economy) and his role as Board director/observer in a manufacturing business, a high-growth technology business and a fancy-dress costume business. ✅ The need to see, hear and shout about female entrepreneurs’ success stories and our job to put focus there - “If you’re not able to commit capital into businesses run by half of the population, that’s a pretty fast way of holding back economic output.” ✅ Having had no awareness of private equity at school, Euan talks about his path to becoming an investor through summer jobs doing the accounts for restaurants, piano teachers, and Fife Bowling Club – and his passion for, and success in, driving forward more equitable access to internships. #interview #investment #scaleups #bgf #femalebusiness #camagazine Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eKYEieus

Always a pleasure sharing the stage with Robin Melley, TEP, Chartered MCSI, FLIBF. So much to discuss, never enough time! #care #mycarehub #vulnerability #carers #supportingcarers #carefunding #financialadvice #carenavigation
Reflecting on yesterday’s The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) Paraplanning Conference 2024 in #Birmingham and the session that Jacqueline Berry, MCC and I delivered with Kate Morris DipPFS Certs CII (MP and ER) on later life advice and planning. One of the benefits of speaking about a subject you are passionate about, and listening to the words that come out of your own mouth, is that you both challenge your own thinking and beliefs but, at the same time, solidify some of your own beliefs. A couple of the issues that I’m absolutely certain about is the need for a holistic approach that considers all nine of the ways to fund care fees and to create a cash flow forecast that enables you to analyse all nine alongside each other. Advisers operating in silos is likely to lead to poor outcomes for clients who are often in vulnerable circumstances, needing a professional safe pair of hands. So, collaboration is also a key ingredient. The Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) later life accreditation is a crucial part of delivering professional advice. SOLLA continues to lead the way as the independent professional body for later life advisers. Reflection over - always a pleasure to share a stage with Jacqueline Berry! 😊 #FinancialPlanning #LaterLifeAdvice STEP – Advising Families Across Generations The Association of Lifetime Lawyers RQ Professional Speaking Association Birmingham Region Professional Speaking Association
