Happy Independence Day! 🎆
Our offices are closed today as our employees celebrate with their families, but we had a blast celebrating together last week with burgers, hotdogs, and our own Summer Olympics!
We will resume normal business hours on Friday, July 5.

Daniella Levine CavaVeteran Housing Corp would ask three questions about the housing projects you support or are involved with:
1. How much funding, federal tax credits, or government benefits or incentives from all government sources did the projects receive?
2. What is the affordability period for each project?
3. What guarantees exist that tenants will not be displaced after the "affordability period expires?
Every local, state, and federal housing authority and affordable or workforce housing stakeholder should adopt the State of Vermont's "permanent affordability" policy as a model for all future government funded or subsidized housing projects or developments, no exceptions! https://lnkd.in/eFEUC8c8
Happy New Year, Miami-Dade! 🎉 I’m grateful for the memories we made together this year and all the work we got done to improve the lives of our residents. It is truly an honor to serve and I’m looking forward to continuing to deliver for #OurCounty in 2024!
I have been waiting for the right moment to post this message and after the last 48 hours, now is the right time.
Your marginalized and multicultural communities are suffering. Most of us who were born here are now suffering from an identity crisis and a belonging crisis. I urge you to check in on your colleagues and make sure that they take 5. They may look OK but they are not.
Let us remember that diversity and inclusion are not mere buzzwords or checkboxes on an agenda. They are living, breathing concepts that require genuine care, understanding, and action. By encouraging an atmosphere of empathy and compassion, we can create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
Over these months, we have witnessed the power of our convictions as we engage in impactful boycotts. By supporting local businesses and rejecting those that fail to align with our values, we are not only reshaping the market but also shifted the spotlight onto the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
As we continue down this transformative path, let us remember that the true power lies within us – within our collective to bring change, within our ability to lead by example, a world that embraces compassion.
I encourage you to watch the below video, it is a powerful message, I have watched it a few times since Christmas. I also encourage you to google Harrison Ford's aka Indiana Jones 😉 2019 Climate message which is equally as powerful.
Thank you

Have you read it? "Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community" by Robert D. Putman.
In a groundbreaking book based on vast data, Putnam shows how we have become increasingly disconnected from family, friends, neighbors, and our democratic structures– and how we may reconnect.
Putnam warns that our stock of social capital – the very fabric of our connections with each other, has plummeted, impoverishing our lives and communities.
Putnam draws on evidence including nearly 500,000 interviews over the last quarter century to show that we sign fewer petitions, belong to fewer organizations that meet, know our neighbors less, meet with friends less frequently, and even socialize with our families less often. We’re even bowling alone. More Americans are bowling than ever before, but they are not bowling in leagues. Putnam shows how changes in work, family structure, age, suburban life, television, computers, women’s roles, and other factors have contributed to this decline.
