🌍🌞 Solar and Agriculture Collaboration: Energix's Bees Produce Sustainable Honey🍯🐝 At Energix, our commitment to renewable energy goes beyond solar panels. We're proud to collaborate with Siller Pollinator Company to introduce beehives at our Hollyfield solar site in King William County, Virginia. This initiative embodies our passion for sustainable land use and environmental stewardship. "I have always been passionate about sustainable land use, and when Energix showed interest in integrating agrivoltaics into our sites, I took the lead to make it happen" shared Danielle Corsan from our Development team. 🐝 Why Bees? Integrating bees into solar sites is a natural choice, especially with pollinator-friendly flora. A small apiary can pollinate up to 17,000 acres, promoting agricultural productivity and biodiversity. Our collaboration with Siller Pollinator has thrived over two years, showcasing the harmony between renewable energy and traditional agriculture. 🌸 Bees and Solar Panels: A Perfect Match The shading from our solar panels extends the bloom of cool-season clovers, benefiting the bees. Our beehives are healthy, thriving, and progressing at better-than-average rates. Allison Wickham, our dedicated beekeeper, emphasizes the mutual benefits: "The bees are wholly unimpaired by the panels and forage happily among them." 🍯 Community and Environmental Impact: Honey bee pollination enhances seed set of desirable species, boosting the local ecosystem. This benefits surrounding gardens, orchards, and crops, while providing a hyper-local honey source enjoyed by the community. 🤝 A Model for the Future: Energix's innovative approach creates economic opportunities for beekeepers, improves solar operations, and maintains land in agricultural use. It's a win-win-win for all stakeholders and the environment. We are excited to continue this journey and share more updates on our path toward a greener future. #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #Agrivoltaics #Beekeeping #EnvironmentalStewardship #SolarEnergy #Energix
