🔍 Zooming in on Carbonfuture MRV+: Carbon Removal Tracking Carbonfuture MRV+ is revolutionizing carbon removal with our data-driven, digital Carbon Removal Tracking system, a crucial element of our Trust Infrastructure for durable carbon removal. Here's why it matters: 🌿 Streamlining Certification and Credit Issuance: Carbon Removal Tracking captures essential data about carbon sinks, seamlessly submits it for third-party validation, and enables carbon removal credit issuance. 💻 Simplifying Reporting with Automation: We convert real-world carbon removal efforts into verified digital records, confirming that these activities are aligned with the criteria outlined by a third-party Standard. Carbon Removal Tracking simplifies reporting and streamlines processes for carbon removal suppliers. 🔍 Enhancing Transparency with Chain of Custody: Carbon Removal Tracking ensures accountability by creating clear records of storage locations and responsible parties throughout the carbon removal process, providing complete transparency for buyers. 📜 Substantiating Net-Zero Claims: Carbon Removal Tracking substantiates net-zero claims with precise and verified data records, enabling buyers to purchase with confidence. 🔒 Preserving Integrity: Carbon Removal Tracking preserves integrity through independent incentive structures and data checks, underpinned by stringent protocols and third-party verification to protect the integrity of carbon removal credits. NEW WEBINAR ANNOUCEMENT: Innovate to Net-Zero: Cross Industry Summit - Tackling the Scope 3 Challenge Collaboratively - Strategies for Measuring, Managing, and Mitigating Indirect Emissions. https://lnkd.in/extzvCwz Date: Wednesday, 10 July 2024 Time: 15:00 - 16:00 CEST Location: Free Zoom Webinar Register: https://lnkd.in/extzvCwz As industries navigate the path to net zero, addressing Scope 3 emissions is no longer optional. Governments and regulatory bodies are increasingly focusing on these indirect, value chain emissions, which often constitute the largest portion of a company’s carbon footprints. Failing to tackle Scope 3 emissions, in line with CSRD expectations, may soon lead to significant financial penalties, reputational risks, and loss of competitive advantage. It's crucial to stay informed and adapt strategies to comply with evolving regulations. In the lead up to the Innovate to Net-Zero: Cross Industry Summit, we are hosting a webinar to delve into how carbon-intensive and hard-to-abate sectors can tackle their Scope 3 emissions. Verra has opened a public consultation on draft versions of tools and modules that are intended for use under the Methodology Framework for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program. These modules and tools expand the types of eligible carbon capture activities, differentiate carbon dioxide removals from emission reductions in projects with both types of mitigation impacts, and allow emissions accounting in collaborative CCS hubs where VCS projects include only a portion of the captured carbon. Once finalized, the framework, along with related modules and tools, will be the first global methodology that allows and encourages collaborative CCS hubs and shared infrastructure for the efficient and scalable deployment of multiple CCS technologies. The Methodology Framework for Carbon Capture and Storage has been developed by the CCS+ initiative. The consultation will run through April 15, 2024. https://bit.ly/3OZ8syX #CarbonMarkets #CarbonCredits #CarbonCapture #ClimateChange #Verra

The Greenhouse Gas Protocol categorizes Scope 3 emissions into upstream and downstream emissions. For several industries, Scope 3 emissions constitute over 70% of a company's overall carbon footprint. Recognizing this, there's a growing emphasis on understanding the complete impact of a company's activities and managing them effectively. 🚄 In our latest blog post, we demystify upstream emissions—explaining what they are, why they matter, and providing insights on effective management by leveraging Osense.
