Thanks for this post, Emma Osterbery. Of course, there are issues. Nothing in this world is perfect. But he's on the side of solutions, not on the side of problems.
Imagine amount of microplastics this guy consumes
Because the supply of whatever it creates could be so great that the price would be so low that no one would bother. Quality control of the final product would be minimal as well as a host of hygiene and safety issues. This kind of recycling can only be done effectively at an industrial scale and plastic is so cheap that I doubt it would ever be viable without massive government incentives that would be better spent on the reduction of plastic use.
Right ... but we introduce insane quantities of microplastics into the environment. Clever, but the impact is questionable.
