Since its launch on March 12th of the previous year, Riyadh Air, owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has received more than 1 million online job applications, as announced by the airline on Wednesday. Applications have poured in from over 100 countries as the airline worked on building its team, conducting multiple recruitment events in cities like London, Paris, Dubai, and Riyadh. The airline is set to commence operations in 2025 with hopes of contributing to Saudi Arabia's economic diversification, job creation, and Vision 2030 objectives. It aims to boost non-oil GDP by $20 billion and create over 200,000 jobs globally and domestically. Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, remarked, “2023 marked a significant milestone for Riyadh Air, and we take immense pride in the progress achieved over the past 12 months as we commemorate our first anniversary. Steve Jobs once said: "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." Now, I don't worry about things. I take time to make decisions and ensure they are the right ones. I trust that the dots will connect in the future by themselves.
