📣 A Wake-Up Call for America 🗽 America, it's time for a sobering reflection. Have we, in our pursuit of progress, become so entitled and ungrateful that we've lost sight of the fact that, though imperfect, our nation stands as the greatest ever built? Our pride should never blind us to the incredible opportunities this land has offered us. It's a place where dreams can be pursued, where people can unite in diversity, and where freedom thrives. Freedom is never free, but it is worth fighting for. This is not the moment for silence, but a time for courage. America faces challenges from within, and we must address them with resolve. Let's remember the values that unite us and work together to preserve this great nation for future generations. 🌟🗽 #UnitedWeStand #AmericanPride #CourageousAmerica #GratefulNation #AmericaTheBeautiful #EPluribusUnum #FreedomMatters #LandOfOpportunity #StrengthInDiversity #StandTogether #PreserveOurNation #WakeUpCall #UnityInDiversity #WeAreAmerica #Patriotism #TimeForChange #StrengthInUnity #AmericaIsGreat #LandOfTheFree #HomeOfTheBrave #OpenLetter #America #BuildTheFuture #US🗽

Happy Independence Day America! Today, as we celebrate the founding of this great nation, let's reflect on the essence of our festivities. In its 248 years, the United States has achieved remarkable milestones that set it apart. From a functional democracy to the peaceful transfer of power, our commitment to freedom is unwavering. For many like me, who immigrated from dictatorships, America symbolizes hope and opportunity. The belief in unity amidst diversity is what makes this country exceptional. As we aid refugees and immigrants seeking safety and a fresh start, we uphold the values that define us. In a world where democracies are under unprecedented threat, safeguarding American freedom is paramount. Democracy is not just a system; it's the cornerstone of justice, freedom, and individual rights. Let's honor those who sacrificed for our liberty by defending the core principles of democracy today and always. Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸 #IndependenceDay #AmericanFreedom #Democracy #Unity

Dear Paulo, I can only join you in this celebration!!! The history of the liberation of Guinea-Bissau is one of the most fascinating of the continent. It offers several valuable lessons that can be applied not only in Africa but also in other regions striving for independence, self-determination, and development. Here are five key lessons: 1. Unity and Collaboration: Guinea-Bissau's struggle for independence was characterized by a united front involving various ethnic and political groups. African nations can learn the importance of setting aside internal differences and working collaboratively towards common goals for the betterment of their nations. 2. Persistence and Resilience: The liberation movement in Guinea-Bissau endured a long and challenging struggle against colonial rule. Africans can draw inspiration from this and understand that persistence and resilience are crucial when facing adversity and working towards a brighter future. 3. Innovation in Warfare: The Guinea-Bissau liberation movement employed innovative guerrilla warfare tactics that played a significant role in their success. African nations can learn the importance of adaptability and creative strategies when faced with powerful adversaries. 4. Local Leadership and Ownership: Guinea-Bissau's struggle was led by local leaders who understood the nuances of their society and culture. African nations can emphasize the importance of local leadership and ownership in shaping their destinies and promoting self-determination. 5. International Solidarity: The liberation movement received support from various countries and international organizations. African nations can learn the importance of forging alliances and seeking support from the international community to advance their causes and gain independence. These lessons are inspirational and practical insights for nations working towards achieving their national goals.
Celebrating Guinea-Bissau's journey to 50 years of freedom on this National Independence Day. May our nation thrive and prosper. 🇬🇼 A luta continua ✊🏿 #GuineaBissau #IndependenceDay

Today marks two years since President Biden became the first U.S. president to formally commemorate Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Over a dozen states and more than 100 cities have followed suit, choosing to honor the rich cultures and histories of Indigenous communities, rather than celebrating Christopher Columbus. Many argue that Columbus brought genocide and colonization to communities that thrived in the Americas for thousands of years. While some still observe Columbus Day or Italian Heritage Day, it's crucial to acknowledge the pain and suffering caused by Columbus. However, there's more work to be done. Indigenous Peoples' Day is not yet a federal holiday, but progress is underway. Lawmakers in Congress have introduced legislation to make it one. Let's continue to advocate for this important step towards recognizing and respecting the rights and contributions of Indigenous peoples. I'm a little sad this morning. All my life growing up I believed America was a place where people put love of country above love of self. I believed that while we were divided at times over policy, we at some fundamental level would always seek to do the right thing for the preservation of our country. All of that was shattered for me yesterday in a little court room in NYC. Yesterday I saw the reality of one party, whose visceral hatred of the other party's leader, led it to cross a line in a manner that we may never recover from. Congratulations America - we just gave away any moral high ground we had ever amassed in the world's eye, and became the worst example of a third world country.

The 26th of January marks 236 years since the British First Fleet invaded First Nations land. It is a day of mourning, commemorating 236 years of dispossession, inequality and destruction which continues today. The first Day of Mourning was organised by First Nations Elders and activists on 26 January 1938. We mourn the attempted destruction of First Nations languages and culture, the theft of Country and songlines, and the loss of children who were stolen from their families. We mourn for those who have died and those who still suffer injustices and inequality in systems built to keep First Nations people disenfranchised here in Australia and around the world. Importantly, it is a day to respect and pay tribute to the resistance and resilience of First Nations people – and come together to reflect and heal. Today’s white Australia has a strong black history. Through it all, First Nations connection to culture, Country and community has survived and remains strong. Sovereignty has never been ceded – this always was and always will be First Nations land.

Yesterday was Mexican Independence Day (September 16th). Let’s come together to commemorate the heroic struggle for independence and renew our commitment to uphold the values of freedom and democracy 🇲🇽. Mexican Independence Day teaches us that the course of history can be changed by small actions, bravery, courage, perseverance and kind hearts. As a Mexican living several years abroad and preparing to relocate outside of the United States to my next endeavor, it’s the perfect day to celebrate the victories of my ancestors and remembering that the only prison that we need to escape is the prison of our minds while we embrace and fight every change and use the challenges to evolve our life. It is important to remember that if you have a dream, you should guard it and not let anything take it away. A nation is not built on fear, rather a nation is built on courage and imagination and unbeatable determination to complete a job no matter how tough it is. “Regardless of the size of the city or town where men or women are born, they are finally the size of their work, the size of their will to magnify and enrich their brothers.” - Ignacio Allende Today, I raise my voice with the precious gift of freedom, and I strive to protect, support and persevere as an example to the future Mexican generations. Happy Independence Day, Mexico! May this day be a reminder of our nation’s legacy, resilience, diversity, cultural richness and pride. ¡Viva Mexico 🇲🇽! #mexicanindependenceday #proudtobemexican #siemens #siemensmobility #inclusionanddiversity #tomorrowwithus
