Join us on 11 July for an EMCC Global GPS dialogue on AI in Coaching led by Prof. Nicky Terblanche (PhD), senior lecturer and research supervisor at the University of Stellenbosch Business School. His interdisciplinary expertise in leadership coaching and information systems has significantly advanced our understanding of AI's role in coaching and its potential impact on leadership development. Professor Terblanche's recent research has focused on crucial aspects of AI coaching, including its efficacy in goal attainment compared to human coaching, factors influencing user adoption, and its potential to enhance and scale coaching practices. His work provides a balanced view of AI coaching's current capabilities and limitations, identifying key evaluation criteria such as the need for large data sets and clearly defined information flows. In this session, Professor Terblanche will explore the current state of AI coaching systems, their potential impact on the coaching profession, and ethical considerations for implementation. He will also discuss future research directions in this rapidly evolving field. Drawing from his groundbreaking studies, including a randomized controlled trial on AI coaching efficacy, Professor Terblanche will offer valuable insights into how AI could democratize coaching, making it more accessible and affordable. His research suggests that while AI coaching shows promise in specific applications like goal attainment, its effectiveness in broader aspects of coaching requires further investigation Book here: https://vist.ly/3cieq Denise Whitworth

We believe the value and power that comes from the human connection in coaching is one that can't be replaced. However, as we learn more about AI and its abilities, we are continually interested in understanding the impact it may have, both positive and negative, on the future of coaching. We recently read a Forbes Leadership article by Anna Gallotti on the 'Pros and Cons of Coaching with AI', which explores both sides of this. The article highlights that AI coaching is highly effective when there are "clearly defined goals and explicit measures of success". On the other hand, AI coaching has difficulties when coaching objectives are nuanced, particularly when coachees may have conflicting goals. Check out the article and let us know what you think in the comments below! #Encountas #Coaching #AI

Helping Healthcare leaders develop compassionate leadership | Certified NLP Trainer | Coach, Supervisor | Embodied Leadership | Integ-R-ous™ | Healthcare Leadership Executive Coach
I have a dream….that all Health and Social Care Leaders are Certified NLP Coach Practitioners© Let me explain. Everyone who has ever done NLP Practitioner training will tell you that it’s a life changing experience … for the better. I know it was for me. Let’s look at a few examples: NLP training means dramatic change to both individuals and the organisation leading to high performance for them, their teams and the organisation. NLP training coaching and leadership development looks deeper into what we do and how we behave as we do. NLP training provides insights into self and the strategies we operate, looking deeper into what and how we behave as we do and explores our inner most beliefs, values, attitudes we hold in our minds and in turn how they impact on our relationship dynamics, connectivity, effectiveness and performance. NLP training develops leaders who are courageous, compassionate, integrous and resilient. NLP training develops innovators who are on their own quest of personal excellence, growth and fulfilment and have a career that is highly successful, rewarding and exciting. NLP training creates leaders who are keen to understand how they are as they are, who become more authentic and overcome limiting beliefs to maximise their personal potential. NLP training enables executives, leaders and management teams to review and eradicate the strategies that are no longer serving them well and replace them with new insights, renewed energy, focus and purpose. NLP training provides the opportunity to rewrite aims and objectives, embrace a new mindset so they get what they want for themselves, their teams and take their directorate and their career aspirations to the next level. NLP is cost and time efficient where the new way of coaching, leadership and management development reports immediate results of personal effectiveness at work, at home and more importantly, a tangible link to the bottom line, leading to credible, robust and resilient leadership across the organisation. NLP training approach to individual and team development is a highly effective, rapid and deeply empowering approach to improving business for goal-orientated boards, executives and leadership teams. Its use sees those that embark the training improve their resilience and personal impact enabling them to speak, pitch and present elegantly with volition, purpose and intent and to successfully achieve their goals, targets and growth. #nhsleaders #resilience #compassionateleadership #teamdevelopment #hrodinnhs

„Bridging the Worlds of AI and Human Coaching.“ With this headline, Rebecca Rutschmann hits the core of the Herculean task we as coaches have to tackle in the face of the huge challenges of artificial intelligence and the gigantic pace at which this technology is developing. I tried with my post yesterday to join this discussion, not at all with the intention of criticizing Rebecca's contribution and position. Quite the contrary: I have been reading your newsletters with great enthusiasm and much benefit for years. And I am overwhelmed by the groundbreaking development work by you, Prof. Nicky Terblanche (PhD), and many others who are trying to harness the possibilities of AI for coaching. It is precisely this enthusiasm that has been driving me for some time to look for further development opportunities. Because it would be negligent and also quite questionable ethically if we were to leave the dynamics of research and development entirely to AI technology. As coaches, we must, above all, become active partners of these proceeses and therefore must advance our own research and development. On this basis we must determine which AI developments we desire, which we accept, and which we reject, especially also from an ethical perspective. This enthusiasm drives me to develop new coaching designs for the reception of AI. In this context, it has become clear to me that it makes sense to distinguish between two paradigms of AI coaching, namely dyadic and triadic AI coaching. Dyadic AI coaching refers to coaching designs in which coachees are coached by a coaching bot or ChatGPT. This design dominates the current discussion around coaching and AI. The decisive feature of this paradigm was very nicely illustrated by Rebecca Rutschmann in her article "Bridging the Worlds of AI and Human Coaching" with an image that shows a young man in conversation with a glassy, transparent figure, obviously visualizing a coaching bot. The alternative to this paradigm is triadic AI coaching. It is still in its infancy and is not meant as a critique of the dyadic paradigm but as an alternative alongside dyadic AI coaching. I hope, with these words, to have made it clear that my post from yesterday was not meant as criticism but as a stimulus for further development. In this sense, I look forward to continuing the dialogue with you, dear Rebecca.

Inspiring a better world, from more excellent workplaces. Award winning OD Consultancy & facilitation. EMCC Accredited: qualified Snr. Practitioner coach; Team Coach. Leadership 360 specialist & Solution Focused Thinker.
Very topical & interesting reflection on AI & the continued differing perspectives of quite what people expect when seeking 'coaching'. I've heard senior leaders feedback how disappointed they were not to be simply told what to do by their coach. Contracting with coachees on their needs is obviously key, this issue existed pre-AI so I'm not surprised there remains some confusion still over mentoring & coaching. Top tip: If you seek answers to your questions find a mentor, they'll have answers for your questions. If you seek exploration, growth & reflection - then seek a coach, they'll have questions for you to answer. I too can see excellent possibilities emerging via AI mentors, able to speedily tap into vast data banks they will be formidable. If they can tap into the underpinning emotions of a sigh with the empathy & skills of an experienced coach, then I will be very impressed. I suspect that challenge is already being worked on somewhere...

Unlock possibilities in yourself and others through personal development and ground breaking coaching and leadership skills. Make a positive impact as a leader, coach or educator. Author | speaker| Podcaster
It’s the four day mBIT coach certification this week and I’m really looking forward to training another group in this life changing and transformational leadership and personal growth methodology. If you or the people you coach or lead have ever found yourself- ❌ in indecision ❌ procrastinating ❌ lacking motivation ❌ in stress or overwhelm ❌ not achieving goals ❌ having difficulty in communicating ❌ not managing your emotional responses ❌ regretting decisions or feeling stuck then chances are your multiple brains are out of alignment. 🧠Neuroscience has shown us that we have complex adaptive neural networks in our heart and gut brains that play a significant role in supporting us to fulfil our potential. The founders of mBIT (multiple brain integration techniques) took this science research into behavioural modelling research, where they found that excellent leaders, coaches, educators, communicators and change makers ALL used their multiple brains in a specific way to achieve their outcomes and be successful . From this they created an incredible suite of tools for human performance and behavioural change. The four day mBIT practitioner certification teaches you HOW psychology, NLP, cognitive linguistics, neuroscience and ancient wisdom have been blended to create this powerful method for human excellence. The course is suitable for ✔️leaders ✔️ educators ✔️ coaches ✔️ therapists and anyone who wants to lead themselves and others more successfully You can find out more information here and you can still join us this Thursday - Sunday https://lnkd.in/djHVkCUY

Do technology simulations and AI have a role in coaching and feedback skill development? Heck YES they do! Thank you, Training Industry, Inc., for publishing my article. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts to help us all think about how we can harness technology for leadership skill development. https://lnkd.in/d7Cr-TFS In the article, you'll see I mention that it's important to have boundaries around the technology. Tech is a tool for us to put to use in the most relevant context for our learners. I've been learning first hand how to masterfully work with technology by watching the Abilitie team. What do you think? What role can tech sims and AI have in your L&D initatives? #businesssimulation #peoplemanagement #managers #feedback #coaching #managers #skilldevelopment #skillbuilding
