I don’t give up when I’m not seeing RESULTS because I mastered this MINDSHIFT ✨BEING OPEN TO CONTINUOUS LEARNING✨ No matter how much “I know” about the mind, I am ALWAYS up to learn more and to hear new perspectives, as this is how I (and you) will truly grow and evolve into the next level. I WASN'T always this way Back in my corporate job, I didn’t focus on personal growth or development at all. You see, I already “knew” how to be a great project manager, so why take a course or read about it. But when I became an ENTREPRENEUR 👇🏻 There was SO MUCH that I didn’t know, so I immediately sought out information, tool, and strategies by reading books, doing courses, hiring coaches and mentorship. So I STARTED to apply what I was LEARNING TO MY BIZ And I’m going to be honest, it didn’t always work for me. I did exactly what they said to do, but I wasn’t seeing the results that they were. This might be where YOU are now 🤔 Trying all the things, doing the courses and programs, but not seeing the results you expected. (at least not seeing them fast enough) Ugh so annoying right?! So here’s WHY I DON'T GIVE UP 📢 It’s impossible for me to KNOW EVERYTHING and even when I have mastered things, I still desire to learn more. I have an open mind to continuously LEARN, COURSE CORRECT, GROW and EVOLVE. So when I’m not seeing the results I want, I get curious.... I've LEARNED that: The seed doesn’t grow the moment that you plant it. I must hold the BELIEF that what I want is coming and have PATIENCE to allow it to. (Patience is the hardest part for me) So I then I learned more about how I to build stronger BELIEF and improve on my PATIENCE. 🙌🏼 ⭐️I made a MINDSHIFT that NOT ALL RESULTS ARE TANGIBLE You see babe, it’s my desire to CONTINUOUSLY learn more AND open my perspectives to new ways of working that empowered me to keep going! Not all “results” are ones that you can see and the most powerful ones can happen within your MIND. 🤯 When YOU master this mindshift... You won’t want to give up either! You know that it’s all a part of your journey and you can make the mindshifts to make it more enjoyable! 🥰 You got this babe! ALX VA WEEK 2 REFLECTION Week Two of my alx_africa VA Program was an exciting learning experience! This week, we delved deeper into what makes a good VA, the baseline skills mapping, mindsets and the essential skills needed to thrive as a world-class VA. We also recognized the profound role of the VA as a business professional who contributes to supporting leaders, building corporations and in a bigger way, shaping the global economy. So far, I’ve enjoyed learning from the specially curated expert perspectives. I love that the ALX VA Program team are intentional about incorporating the insights and experiences of professionals working in the field, into the program. It offers a practical context to the learning. I was reminded again of the many perks of being a VA – the most important ones being the opportunity to support and build out the vision of leaders, organizations, corporations and industry, as well as being able to develop skills that are relevant in any industry. Perhaps my most profound perk of being a VA, as shared by the Program Learning Experience Designer, Prudence Chikono, is being able to enjoy immense exposure in the process of supporting C-level executives, strategists and visionaries; an exposure that can be a game-changer and crucial in developing oneself to become a top leader as well! I’ve found this to be true in my life so far and because I’ll always be an advocate for exposure, this remains one of my greatest rewards in offering support to any task, project, or vision, no matter the context or industry I get to serve in. Week 2 of the #AlxVA program was deliberately designed to provide multiple opportunities to own and hone our learning journey, by redirecting us to personality tests and other assessments that allow us to become more aware of our current capabilities across areas of leadership, time management, and the ability to take criticism. The program also features an intentional skills mapping exercise that allows us to be proactive about assessing our current skills and proficiencies as well as identifying areas for improvement, encouraging us to put plans in place for developing these skills. My highlight in Week 2 was the peer coaching conversation, where we had a chance to connect with a fellow learner in our learning squad and discuss our experiences and learning journey in a simulated coaching context. What a way to apply the principle of peer-based learning! Overall, the deep blend of expert-based content, peer-based engagement and experiential learner-led learning has been amazing so far. This is the stuff that transformative education is made of, and I’m getting pumped to continue my learning in Week 3 of the ALX VA Program! A shoutout to the alx_africa VA team and facilitators! Let's get to know Gerry better with three questions: ▪️ What are you looking forward to while working at Collegial? Impact and joy: I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to many people's lives and the organizations they are a part of, through Collegial's highly impactful and scalable learning initiatives; At the same time, after meeting our team in Stockholm, I have a deep joy of being able to share such a thrilling journey with them. ▪️ What is your best learning experience? I believe that the only learning that matters is meaningful learning, which is not just about storing facts in your brain, but about making sense of them and linking them to your own experiences. It's about discovering new possibilities and creating new solutions, about becoming a better thinker and a better learner. This allows us to apply our knowledge to any situation and achieve further growth. In this sense, the most significant learning experience I've had is one which shaped my life and my personal understanding of what's good, genuine, and beautiful. This was a two-years social service which took place when I was 17. My full-time job was serving others. This meant learning more about humanity, from an integral perspective, to be able to help others develop too, with an inherent spirit of service. I learned how much we can stretch to grow and improve, I learned to live mindfully and spent countless hours in meditation, I was responsible for an organization serving hundreds of teenagers, I learned to care for others, to listen, to understand, to share, I learned to speak in public, I worked 11-12 hours a day and more during weekends, I led many groups of young people, I guided their group leaders, I had a lot of fun, I struggled with the discipline and effort it required of me at such a young age, I suffered, I overcame the struggles, I became better, I learned to dream and to purse my dreams, I learned to aim high, I learned who I was, what I wanted, who I wanted to share my life with, I learned how beautiful life could be. I learned and improved so much, and then I saw this happen in many people around me as well. ▪️ What is your hidden talent? Seeing the positive in most situations without losing the grasp on reality. I consider myself someone realistic, but at the same time, I chose to focus on the positive aspects of reality. Join us in giving him a warm welcome! 🌟

Monday - My experience of seeing things differently. Could stress offer opportunities of fresh learnings? We usually think of stress as something we would like to avoid, or at least forget once we’ve been through it. But what if stressful situations could offer us much more than discomfort? I had had blocked ears for almost 3 weeks.  It was not painful, but it was very stressful. The effort I had to make to -       Listen to my clients, -       Have constructive meetings’ outcomes, -       Converse in a way that was meaningful, -       Be patient with myself and others, Was really bad. It was so hard I was truly exhausted by the time I went to bed even though there were meetings I didn’t attend because I decided to cancel them. After almost 3 weeks I found a treatment that literally sucked the earwax out of my ears. It took ages (almost 45min), and it was a little uncomfortable at times.  But the results were awesome.  -       I could hear, -       I could process conversations better, -       I could understand full sentences, not just snippets, -       I could answer questions so much more easily, My life was so different. And I was so grateful that when the lady who performed the procedure smiled at me afterwards, I gave her a big hug, and I nearly cried with joy. I had a massive smile on my face. Who would have thought 3 weeks before then that I could be so happy so easily? Who would have thought that going through a stressful situation could provide me with so much joy at the end of it? Stressful situations are definitely a difficult process. But what if we could learn something from it, that otherwise could have been missed? I loved the joy that I was filled with when I finally heard things and people clearly. It helped me appreciate the things that before I never even properly noticed. Now I still have a big smile whenever people start talking to me, realising how easy it is now to hear and respond. I invite you to ask yourself: What stressful situation would you like to think through to explore if there was perhaps a fresh learning in it that helped you move towards a better quality of life? #NewLearnings

My TOP 23 Learnings from the Year 2023 ✨ 1. The universe has energy and if I align with it, I can manifest things I want. 2. Patience is a skill. I need to have it. It can do wonders.  3. Trust my instinct. I tried it and succeeded. 4. Being there for myself. I have to stand for myself as and when I feel right.  5. Don’t invest a lot of my energy into other humans. Everyone is for themselves. Invest in my growth. 6. Don't be afraid to quit one thing. I tried it, and well, it was the best decision ever. 7. Embrace discomfort - it often leads to growth., I can vouch for this. 8. Prioritize Mental Health. I took over 30 days off last year to make this one right. Don’t neglect. 9. Gratitude. Felt it, need it, preach it. Best thing to do, all day, every day.  10. If I want to do something, do it. I skydived after changing my thoughts 20+ times. 11. Value my team-mates and employees, how ever they are. They are the ones helping me grow! 12. I cannot be dedicated all days of the year. Its okay to not give 100% every day. 13. Love my family. I can fight with them as much as I want but I must always have their back. 14. Failures are really okay. Without failing, it's no learning, it's no growth. FAIL = GROWTH 15. Listen more than speak. It has led to so much introspection.  16. I am not afraid of challenges. They are what makes it all fun. 17. Yes to feedback, every time. Good, bad - take it. Improve on it. 18. Give my customers priority. I don’t say no to picking up a call at 9 pm 19. Good investments are important. Really important. 20. Spend money on myself, once in a while - feel good and feel happy ;) 21. Go on a Solo trip. Did not have any “self-discovery” but learned to be alone and be ok with it. 22. Your circle of people does impact you. Build a smart one. 23. Last year has been a Madagascar for me in many ways, but I am grateful for it. In the long run, it's all for the good.
