Haven't we all been there? Let's be honest! Scrolling through LinkedIn, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the endless stream of success stories and inspirational quotes. Maybe even secretly thinking, "Is this stuff even real?" (Yep, that was me until December 2023!) Back then, I was the ultimate LinkedIn lurker. I'd occasionally like a post or share an article, but active participation? Forget about it. But then, something shifted. Maybe it was seeing so many inspiring entrepreneurs and VAs out there, crushing their goals. Maybe it was the realization that I actually had valuable knowledge to share. Whatever it was, I decided to stop lurking and start learning.  I started focusing on  ✔ Content Consistency ✔ Engaging with the Community ✔ Sharing Real Life Experiences ✔ Learning from Others And speaking of improvement, here are the 4 biggest lessons I've learned: ✅ Building relationships takes time and effort.  ✅ Vulnerability is a strength.  ✅ Consistency is key.  ✅ There's so much to learn! So, what does this all mean? Well, for me, it means I'm no longer a lurker. I'm an active participant in this amazing blue app. I'm still a work in progress, but I'm learning and growing every day. A conversation is never wasted! I have just learnt multiple nuggets from strangers. 💃 Over the last couple of weeks I have taken my "social platform" connections to the next level. I have taken the time and sometimes at night due to time zone changes to connect with people globally. Fortunately they too have taken the time. I am so grateful because these short, introductory conversations which may lead to nowhere or somewhere but it was exactly what the doctor needed in my solo entrepreneurial journey. This is why? ➡️ I learnt something from each person. ➡️ Speaking to someone even over zoom made a much greater connection than an email or message exchange. ➡️ Each person connected me to someone else, broadening my opportunity to learn more. ➡️ The connection in itself has given me the energy I need to be creative, step out of my comfort zone and believe in bigger things. "New year, new me", but I see the same frustrating pattern repeating: Service-based entrepreneurs bouncing from - coach to coach, - one strategy to another strategy, - Linkedin challenge to LinkedIn challenge, never truly committing to long-term success You see, short-term thinking is costing you BIG TIME. Millions in lost revenue. Millions in missed opportunities. Millions in building a business that feels like a prison sentence. Here's how: 🔸 Jumping from coach to coach: Every new guru promises the same thing " SUCCESS with their help" So why do you jump ship before the magic starts happening? You won't change surgeons during mid-surgery right? 🔸Joined Two Linkedin challenges at once? Who are you trying to impress? 😂 That's not multitasking, it's madness! Focus on deep implementation. One well-executed strategy beats a dozen half-baked attempts. 🔸Sales calls, endless 1:1s – are you building a sustainable business or a prison sentence? Invest in yourself, not just fleeting trends: - find a coach that aligns with your vision (not every good speaker should be your coach) - Join a community ( don't do this journey alone ) . WARNING…don’t build your offer until you’ve done this: Researched the market. When I graduated in 2020, I had two options if I wanted to stay in Prague. ↳ Find a job. ↳ Build a business. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I always wanted to give business a shot. And there was a specific problem I wanted to solve: The lack of proper career support for school leavers. I had faced this problem myself, so I had a good idea of what my services would look like. And I spent a lot of time perfecting my coaching process… Because I wanted to deliver an excellent service. But it was the worst thing I could have done. Did I attract buyers? Yes, a few. Although I soon realized that my market was not students aged 16-18 and their parents. It was people aged 20 - 50+... People who: ↳ Had been working for years & wanted a complete career change. ↳ Were done with corporate and wanted to go into their own businesses. Fortunately, I was able to pivot and adapt to this market. But imagine how much time I would have saved if I’d started with the proper steps. I've seen lots of talk on Twitter and LinkedIn about goals. Are they important or a complete waste of time? As an entrepreneur, for a lot of years my goal was very simple. Live to fight another day. It was about survival. Similarly, when I was younger goals had a different meaning because time FELT like it was on my side (newsflash - it never really was). I typically defaulted to shooting from the hip rather than thoughtful planning. That took a toll on my business, frustrated those around me, and didn't serve me well in life more generally. Now, things are different. I've got an established and successful business - it's not about survival, it's about profitable and sustainable growth. Goal setting and thoughtful strategic plans are critically important and communicating those goals - clearly and consistently - to the team is essential for our success. Life goals are also more important than ever. Now that I'm not a kid anymore, I feel the urgency of time very differently than I did 20 years ago. Each click of the clock, each turning page of the calendar, feels heavier than the last. So, here's one of my personal goals for 2024. Last year I spent an amazing few days trail running in the Sierras. My goal is to hit those trails twice this year. Spending time running at elevation is always a challenge for me, so I need to dial up the training to make it work. Unlike last year, I'm starting to train early and am planning to push further and higher into the mountains than ever before. How do you feel about goal setting? The Power of Consistently Putting Your Work Out There I recently started a YouTube channel where I share videos on building startups and learning about entrepreneurship, personal branding, and student life while meeting some amazing people who have conquered this field. It's been an incredible journey so far, and one of the most valuable lessons I've learned is the power of consistently putting your work out there. Forget what they say about building in silence and letting your success make the noise. In today's world, people reward you for the process. That's why I try to constantly share my progress, from brainstorming ideas to launching new programs. There are tons of platforms where you can do this, but YouTube and LinkedIn are a goldmine for young adults and founders. You'll see successful people actively posting and engaging with their community. I started posting regularly on Linkedin in the past 2 months, and it's opened so many doors for me: → Brand partnerships → Event invites → Met great people through LinkedIn Being active online creates opportunities you wouldn't have otherwise.
