The University of Southern Maine McGoldrick Center for Career & Student Success and Portland Commons Residence Hall has won an AIA Maine Design Award of Merit in the Institutional/Commercial category and a Design Award of Merit from SARA NY! These two new linked buildings transformed the University of Southern Maine’s Portland commuter campus into a welcoming residential community. The new buildings and landscape enhance social equity, drive economic prosperity, and promote environmental stewardship through The Passive House Network design. Together, they include 580 new beds, a new green quad, a dining common, career services and student affairs offices, meeting rooms, lounges and a new university store. Elkus Manfredi Architects led the design of this project in collaboration with Portland's SMRT Architects & Engineers. #ElkusManfrediProject with Capstone Development Partners, LLC, SMRT Architects & Engineers and PC Construction Company #Architecture #DesignExcellence #Sustainability #USM #SARANY #awardwinner 📸 Trent Bell
