Supporting the growth of hard tech startups

Last week Activate CEO Cyrus Wadia joined Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) Secretary Yvonne Hao, Undersecretary Ashley Stolba, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center Chief Program Officer Galen Nelson, and Climate Chief Melissa Hoffer to celebrate the growing support for climate innovation in Massachusetts and the Governor's Mass Leads Act with leaders from the Wyss Institute at Harvard University at their new facilities in Boston. The event included leadership from the Wyss sustainability initiative Emily Stoler Pam Silver, and Wyss spin out company founders working in sustainability such as Marika Ziesack, Cofounder of Circe Biosciences and former Activate fellow. Circe Biosciences produces cocoa butter and other ingredient alternatives derived from CO2 using bioengineering technology developed at the Wyss Institute. The company has raised more than $8M to date and will be manufacturing their technology at a new facility in Waltham.   Thank you to Harvard leadership Paul Hayre, M.
