ENDEX! NATO's Steadfast Deterrence 2024 is a wrap! Honoured to have been recognised by the Vice Chief of Staff for significant contribution to the exercise over the past few weeks. It's so encouraging to see Strategic Communications acknowledged as vital to military operational planning and assessment of strategic effect. For many years, my colleagues and I fought for a seat at the table, to make sure StratCom isn't just considered as an after-thought. So wonderful and important to see the discipline recognised in its rightful place at the heart of deterrence and defence strategy and execution.

A weekend working underground in the bunker requires good snacks 💪🍫☕ I'm playing Exercise Steadfast Deterrence, which sees international military personnel from many locations across Europe practicing skills and procedures to reinforce #NATO's deterrence and defence posture. Heading home from beautiful Valencia, where I was honoured to chair NATO's Information Environment Assessment Tiger Team #NIEATT. An important week with senior civilian and military colleagues discussing analysis and assessment of the Information Environment, as a basis for decision-making in the field of cognitive warfare.

Wrapping up the 2023 NATO Communicators Conference in Paris. Such a great week of Strategic Communications theorising with colleagues from around the globe, hearing about comms on the front lines from amazing Ukrainian soldiers, and discussing new challenges with our Japanese colleagues. I’m pretty exhausted after speaking on panels for no fewer than 4.5 hours yesterday alone, but the delicious French food and wine helped! #NCC23Paris
