This was truly an incredible experience.
This kind of deep learning you can gather with an immersive, collaborative experience, with guidance from staff from Harvard and other great Universities is remarkable.
Another point: during the months preceding the 5 days workshop, as a Teaching Assistant (TA) I could experience in practice what educator Paulo Freire used to say about adult learning: "Whoever teaches learns in the act of teaching, and whoever learns teaches in the act of learning."
As a TA, I was constantly taught, by PPCR professors and more senior TAs, by my fellow TA1s and by the students. Indeed, "people educate each other, mediated by the world!!"
All in PPCR carefully protected environment.
I graduated over 2 decades ago - and I have seem quite a few educational programs, either in research or in a dozen fields.
PPCR is not perfect - and a proof is that it's constantly reinventing and re-evaluating itself, honestly incorporating the improvements and taking back what didn't improve it.
No, PPCR is not perfect: it is unique.

PPCR Course
From Oct. 28-Nov. 1, the 2023 Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (PPCR) cohort gathered in Brazil to gain hands-on experience in clinical trial design and analysis through the program’s capstone, the 5-Day Immersion Course.
Throughout the #ppcrprogram, participants work on group projects with fellow clinical researchers. The 5-Day Immersion Course provides a unique opportunity for participants to review their projects with faculty and ultimately present their year-long work to the cohort.
This capstone is also designed to review and synthesize the important information presented throughout the year so participants can readily apply their newfound skills and knowledge.
