As the approach to therapies, particularly in the oncology space, becomes more comprehensive it's exciting to see collaboration across boundaries within the health care ecosystem. The role of hospitals, pharmacies and diagnostic centers and for that matter the roles of patients themselves have all expanded and become more interconnected to the end of increased viability of treatments. Thanks to Yuri Fesko MD, Vice President for Medical Affairs at Quest Diagnostics and his team for their thought leadership on the role of diagnostics via their recently published white paper. We think we have some pretty interesting findings here! TL;DR: FDA registration trials describing curative interventions, studies published in traditionally defined high-impact journals, and genitourinary trial publications tend to have the greatest Altmetrics. Maybe Toni Choueiri is single-handedly responsible for the GU Altmetrics?!?! 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐃𝐀 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, aimed to address long-standing regulatory challenges in oncology in-vitro diagnostics. This program could pave the way for a more collaborative and efficient diagnostic landscape, not just in oncology but potentially in other therapeutic areas too such as neurology. One of those hoping that this program will transform the landscape of diagnostic testing is Federico Goodsaid, SVP of Regulatory Affairs at Ariana Pharma. Federico worked with the FDA for nearly a decade and now uses this wealth of knowledge to support clients across the life sciences industry.
