THE BEST NEWS OF THE WEEK! EU Nature Restoration Law is voted in favour by the European Council! 🌳🌊🦉 Thank you, Austria, for giving us the last final vote to get it through! I can’t thank you enough! 🙏 What does this law mean? 1. €100 billion EU funding to restore nature by 2050 2. Restoration targets on land and at sea: - reversing decline of pollinators by 2030 🐝 - no net loss of urban green spaces by 2030 and 10% tree cover in cities by 2050 🏡 - restoration of soils and soil carbon, grassland butterflies and farmland birds 🦋 - restoration of peatlands - restoration of forests 🌲 - restoration of marine habitats 🐬 Future hasn’t sounded better! (and full of awe too) To nature and everyone who made this law a reality! 🌱💪 P.S. this video is from when the law was adopted by the European Parliament last year. Since then it was hanging on the edge. And yesterday Austria changed its outcome by saying yes in the European Council. #sustainability #nature #naturerestorationlaw

This is amazing! And what's concerning are the countries that voted against it. Sweden, Finland, Netherlands... Where is their climate leadership now?

What about restrictions to decrease import of low quality products? Restriction to overproduce food and clothes? What about restrictions to supermarkets to stop selling grocery products as they come with huge waste? What about decreasing transport routes by promoting suppliers from europe and looking into new suppliers in Eastern Europe to avoid huge shipments from Asia and other countries....creating pollution, overusage of fuel and resources. To restore soil its enough to grow potatoes for 1 season to remove all chemicals...we need more to focus on supply chain and decrease number of poor quality products enering to EU market ...teach people how to detach from buying sth just because it's cheap and buy local and quality products that last longer...not all those things that break after 1 wash or few times usage. Quality control...more regulations what can be sold and not sold in EU. We have already regulations about old cars, that can't be used, we have restrictions about chemicals that can't be part of some products as its dangerous for health...we should have regulations about quality of clothes and products too...

This is good news. It necessarily commits the EU to banning plastic, pesticides, forever chemicals. You can't restore nature while the taps on these things continue gushing their poison into nature.

This is fake news. The ultimate decision was made by the European Council behind closed doors made possible by a Minister without mandate from Austria. Imagine that! The PM of Austria is going to court. What a messy business!!!! No democracy in the EU.

Nature is a interconnected inteligence and not an isolated random process. When you consider restoring nature you have to restore biology, human biology, nature with universal interconnectivity. If we restore marine inhabitants, then we restore animal and human environments. The process needs alignment, understanding and acceptance of the ultimate creative inteligence human inteligence fails to align with using interconnectity.. If the 100 billion EU fund is to restore nature then the fund needs to align nature with human environments by correcting human inteligence, archetecture, geomerty, and mathematics with universal intèconnective inteligence. If the EU funds purpose does not focus on interconnectivity we continue to fail nature, human health and we cannot restore nature using isolation.

It's just unfortunate that six countries including the Netherlands voted against it. Hopefully they can with time be persuaded to see sense.

Elena Doms - until now I just saw the "no motion picture" of the result. This moment is truely emotional, especially for people like Jutta Paulus who is giving her all to get nature back in Europe. To all fighters for nature: 🫶💚🌸🐝.
