This is how you KNOW 💡 Reading is so important! 📌150 years ago it was ILLEGAL for Black people to Read 📖 📌It was ILLEGAL for someone to teach a black person to read 📚 📌 To this day 80% of All children’s books feature a white character or an ambiguous character like a giraffe 🦒… 📌2 out 3 students who cannot read proficiently by the end of 4th grade will end up in jail or on welfare. 📌 70% of America’s inmates cannot read above a 4th grade level. 📌1 in 4 children in America grow up without learning how to read. 📌Students who don't read proficiently by the 3rd grade are 4 times more likely to drop out of school 🏫 . ⚠️This makes it more difficult for black & brown kids to Want to read because there aren’t enough books that showcase kids that look like them! 👉🏾 Let’s expose our kids to more books with black characters. 💰Will you order our books & share this post?
