Battery recycling is no trivial task (speaking from experience), yet doing it effectively is increasingly vital for global energy management, as systems and products large and small are (re)designed to utilize renewable energy. Decisions about batteries made at all levels, from the individual person making purchase & disposal choices up to governments and global corporations defining policies & practices, will have lasting impacts on the condition of the planet that we leave to future generations. If you aren't already avoiding single-use batteries and ensuring your rechargeable batteries are recycled, I encourage you to consider how you might modify your choices to help keep batteries out of landfills.
